Painting the side skirts on a MY00
#1
Does anybody know if its possible to paint the standard side skirts on a UK MY00 without it peeling off with the first stone chip?
Or does anyone know of somewhere that i can get some pre-painted & laquered parts?

They need to be really clean! Don't rub them down to much or the surface comes up like suede
Then get some plastic primer (clear liquid) before that drys prime the skirts and then paint.
Any decent paint supplyer or paint shop will know what to do or be able to advise you what to buy.
Iain.

Got mine done at local paintshop along with the rear bumper corners and some paint damage on a wheel arch for £275. They said that they had to scotchguard the skirts first then leave it dry before painting to hold it to the rubbery plastic. Seems to be fine so far (been done about a month) just dont expect to be able to pressure wash them.
