Having seen sammyh excellent car in the gallery I have decided that I must have my STI windows tinted, can anyone recommend a company preferably in the midlands who can do this professionally.

Thumbs up

I can recommend one in the North West. It's a small run company called Shades and the guy's name is Barry. Barry is based in Heywood which is a few minutes from Junction 19 of the M62. He doesn't work 9-5 and will work the hours that suit you. He did my car (MY02 STi Prodrive) one Saturday morning as 5:30am and offered me the loan of a vehicle but I ended up just watching what was going on.

The cost is £250 for tints all round and the results are flawless. Barry prides himself on the results and if you don't like what you see you don't pay. That's his motto. By the way, the rear window goes in as one piece. It is not several pieces spliced.

I am aware of several people on Scoobynet who have had their tints done with Barry and everyone is happy.

Mention my name (Steve) and Scoobynet and Barry will be only too happy to oblige at a time that suits you. Tel: 01706 345616 or mobile 07966 447609. Let me know how you get on

Steve555,

How do they do the windows? ive heard horror stories about window tinting companies taking the windows out etc. Then after strange noises have appeared. Do they still do this or have they advanced abit?

Cheers
Scrappy

in reply to all of you, ICS in Leicester have done 2 scoobys for me, and they are ALWAYS absolutely perfect. Choices of tints (depends how sexy you want your car to look) are good. Limo is ok for rear window but not sides, 35% daylight which is on my STI7 or 20% daylight which I had on my DBM MY99, this looked incredible but just made it that little bit harder to see at a glance at nightime.

They're number is 0116 2610455, tell them Subaru Darren recc you, should be about £250 for all 5 windows, in any shade. Leave car at 9am, pick up at 5 - all purfect.

Take internal door trims off but windows stay in at all times

OK?

Cool

Scrappy,

As Darren suggests, they remove the door trims and take out the rear seating arrangement. The foil on the rear is different to the foil on the sides (because of ariel in back window on the STi7, non metalic etc). If they are good, the rear window should go in in one piece.

Shop around and see what you think.

Cheers steve, as long as it doesnt involve taking out the windows (Sides and rear) The interior removal still scares me though but i suppose its better than the windows.

Just sold my scooby and cant wait to get another. Windows will be done asap.

Nice looking motor darren. The windows look ace!!!

What colour do they call that on the evo 6? Is it Rheims blue or something like that?
