Hello all.

I have an 05 WRX which when purchased in 06 already had an STI spoiler fitted. The spoiler has come away at the joint due to the nuts/bolts rusting. Just wondering what my options are to repair?

I couldn’t get the other side apart due to the hardware being badly corroded, I had to use force in the end to completely separate the two half’s. Once apart I drilled out the rusty nut rivets etc. this didn’t leave much to work with for installing new hardware.
I made 2 metal plates and pop riveted these to the top half. I was then able to nut rivet into the metal plate. Once back together the gap between top and bottom sections was a little bigger than normal due to the metal plates so I used an auto sealer/glue between the joints to help seal and strengthen the joints.
a quick rattle can spray job to finish which isn’t the best but plan on getting it re done hopefully later this year as I was hoping for a re spray to tidy up some of the age related marks.
