Default Rear trunk lock remove and fill

So have to get my trunk resprayed and toying with the idea of removing the lock hole and leaving flush (have all badges removed already bar STI)

So what's the likelihood of the cable breaking into cabin and if so, can the trunk be popped from inside by climbing through rear bench if ever needed ?

And re filling , I assume metal sheet underneath welded in. With filler on top ? Or could the hole be filled with weld?

Can’t you put an emergency cable ending under the rear seat ?
if you are going to debadge do them all and delock the boot. A nice clean rear is a good look.
