Default How hard are subaru emblems on a hawkeye to split and paint?

Just ordered a new set of subaru emblems (blue with stars) for my Hawkeye with the intention of splitting them and painting them before I fit them. Has anyone got any tips for splitting the badges and getting the old ones off. Any help appreciated
Thanks jon

Not tried splitting the badges before but have removed one or two, always found dental floss works a treat to cut thru the backing tape on the back of the badges, doesn't harm the paint work either

As above.
Strip paint off the rear by soaking in paint remover, Wilco do a good one.
Repaint from rear, don't worry about the finish, it will be through the plastic front so will look good.

?????

You don't have to do so.
Once it's off the car, the rear of the coloured paint is visible.

Only on classics and early newage (not totally sure about the Hawk) but certainly not on Hatches and Saloons

Saloon grill badge not so bad once it's removed from grill

Rear badge needs some help
