Boot lid seal.

Boot lid seal.
I noticed the other day after washing the car that water has leaked in under the seal on the boot lid, by the passenger light cluster. It's the rubber seal that goes up and around the boot. After testing a few other areas along it, it seams it's fairly easy to pull off (no pun intended).
My question is, are these seals meant to be bonded down with some form of sealant or are the just a push fit?
Cheers.

No it's definitely from the area furthest away from the passengers side light cluster, just where it bends around and goes across the boot. I can easily lift that area of rubber seal up, and when you look inside its directly under it.
Will look for that sealant, thanks.

Had water going in mine . After pulling off the seal at the lip nearest the windowm i found gaps in the metal lip that the seal fits onto, They had rusted away and were fithy underneath so cleaned the area as best as i could then built the gap up using sealer , before replacing the seal. Been ok ever since, and check regularly for anymore rust. A more professional job using steel would have been better, but hadnt got time . Other thing i had thought of doing was using a thin layer of glass fibre .
