Default STI replica?

Hi, looking through the internet and cannot find anything about putting STI bumpers, bonnet, ect on a GX sport, I'm only doing this because insurance on a sti is £25k for me but a GX is only £4k. Will STI bodykit go on a GX? Thanks

I'm paying £1700 for telematics on a 98 Peugeot 306 :/ isn't going to get any cheaper either waiting for a summons for speeding. Any ideas wether sti bodykit will fit a GX?

I can't find them anywhere, people are selling sti reps on eBay and gumtree but can't find a kit that will fit

I saw what I thought was a stunning white STI blob the other week. Turned out to be a GX which had been modded so it can be done. Cost him a lot of money though....

And by the time you declare the body kit etc on your insurance it will still cost 25k to insure....

Sell the GX and get a decent car that you can afford to run...... Lets face it, the GX is crap anyway, so youre only going to look like a fool sat at the traffic lights getting beaten my clios.....

The average new driver 17 year old pays 2500 for insurance iirc and that probley on group 1 or 2 cars like 1 litre micras.

So 4k on a 2.0 awd impreza "sport" seems about right.

Your right tho if hes willing to pay that much my advice would be see wot group the sports in and look for the hottest how hatch in the same group it will be much quicker

You may actuly have a problem haha

Been looking and the impreza gx is a very resonable group 23

Even a crummy saxo vts is 5 groups higher!

And you can forget gti's clio sports , mini s, etc there all conciderably higher

I bought my 17 year old son an EP2 Civic in January, with myself as name driver and a black box fitted the Insurance premium was £1200 FC.

IMO, a black box should be fitted to ALL young new drivers cars..

I've already got one on my peugeot but I found adding parents put my premiums up, only problem is when I took the policy out I didn't need to travel for work so I set a low mileage but now I have a new job and I have to travel 40 miles a day (atleast) so now I'm very close to my limit and it costs about £100 to add 1k miles

given the prices etc then best advice would be to wait, get a couple of years ncb under your wing, get some experiance on the road and revisit it in a couple of years.

Sound harsh but no point in chucking mega money at it for the sake of it

Id spend the money on a turbo conversion for the GX and keep it looking externally standard. sleeper stealth.

They made an STi replica from the factory, it had all the rubbish bits on from the factory, small brakes, weak gearbox etc,

Basically a lesser spec, which is slower and cheaper to insure, for younger people who can't afford a real one. They called it the WRX from the factory, try one of those if you want a big. Spoiler and bonnet vent!

^^^ ^^^ rs Matt ain't gonna like that bro
But I have to say apart from the brakes wrx's are more of an everyday car that you can use in std form easily and the sti is more of a weekend/track car

As the GX is a little lighter it should be able to 1/4 mile far quicker than ****-Matt's WRX shouldn't it?

Yeah, with the better 5sp gearbox, lightweight brakes, lightweight engine, lightweight body kit, it isbasically the. Best subaru drag car ever made....!

(Replace "light weight". With "poverty spec")

there are no 'bodykits' because the oem panel parts from an STi are a direct replacement and bolt right on to a GX, if that's what you want to do.
