Exactly what I was thinking although we'd never have got him due to wages as usual. Why the hell did Bayern bail at the last second and then not go back in once dropped from £18m to £8m?

Good player, there will be less opportunities for Palacios now. Van der Vaart didn't sell himself in the world cup, there is a difference between stopper and clogger.
