Why, (Im not a MUFC supporter btw) Rooney said he was fit? When he was on and they had 11 men, they were by far the better team, and he set one up.

Neither am I... I hate them... but England are going to be useless without him.

And just coz Rooney says he's fit means he is?? Rooneys a hot headed youngster that wants to play every game, which is great, but his manager (espesh Fergie) and medical team should have known better.

So Rooney says he is fit, the medical staff say he is fit, but Fergie shouldn't play him incase he hurts himself and isn't fit for England?

Not necessarily even for England... end of the day he hobbled off with the same injury, so that says it all does it not?

He burst blood vessels (?) in the same area. He will miss the Blackburn game at the weekend, which I imagine was a planned gamble by Fergie.
We will not suffer in the World Cup as a result of this injury, and also do not underestimate the rest of the squad. We can do it, with or without Rooney. Id prefer with, as he needs to be a World Cup winner.

Rooney said he's fit.

Medical experts say he's fit, so the manager picks him to play - whats wrong with that?

Rooney's primary task is to play for Man Utd, so **** England and the world cup

Sure they won't win anyway because they are useless.

Whey Man Utd lost and Rooney's now out again for another "week or so", so will damage their Premiership hopes more so

Yea, the injury could have been worse, but its not, so wont affect England, nonetheless not to good of a decision by Sir Alex to play in my opinion

No that one game won't affect England, and he's going to miss this weekends game against Blackburn.

But he's got another 4 primary jobs to do thereafter and if he burns himself out in the process then thats Fabio's problem - not Fergie's

My point to begin with was fergies made a boo-boo, and a canny big one, and now Man Utd are gunna suffer... which is fine, he made his bed now he can sleep in it by playing him

I wonder if your viewpoint would be any different if either

a) You were English

b) or Rooney played for N.Ireland and

c) N.Ireland were in the World cup

Bit off topic like, but yea, i'd agree there are better teams out there than England, I dont think we'll be brushed aside like, we will hold our own, but I dont really expect to get further than the quarters... like normal

a) I am a British citizen though

b) I don't watch any of the N.Ireland games - doesn't interest me in the slightest

c) Possibly - but the right honerable gentleman refers you to point b)

Oh - and I agree with the comments above - you'll get past the groups but thats about the height of it I'm sorry to say.

Urban - My lass is from Northern Ireland aswell (thus a Rep. Ireland fan) and a Man Utd supporter, I get all the same stick off her, just like winding her up as much as i've enjoyed this Its all banter

... I think semi's is as far as we'll go if we're lucky, theres ALOT of 'game winners' out there this year for loads of teams i.e. Messi and Co.

But it wasn't a 'boo boo' if he wasn't fit for the game last night he woudn't have played him from the start against blackburn anyway IMO, as he would fancy us to beat blackburn even with BerbatovIf he hadn't played last night the chances where he wouldn't have played until the city game on the 17th which is 10 days away.

Rooney contributed to the first half performance of the team and the crowd just being on the pitch, we will never know the outcome had he not featured last night. What i do think is he should have taken him off at half time.
