Default The Curse of Euro '96: English Managers

I was just thinking the other day how unsuccessful the recent crop of young English managers have been, despite numerous opportunities. It then occurred to me how many of them were players in the First XI at Euro '96.

1. David Seaman (retired and took up ice skating)
2. Gary Neville (still playing, just...)
3. Stuart Pearce (failed as Forest and Man City manager)
4. Paul Ince (failed as Blackburn manager)
5. Tony Adams (failed as Portsmouth manager)
6. Gareth Southgate (failed as Middlesbrough manager)
7. David Platt (failed as Sampdoria and Forest manager)
8. Paul Gascoigne (failed as Boston Utd & Kettering manager)
9. Alan Shearer (failed as Newcastle manager)
10. Teddy Sheringham (ITV pundit)
11. Darren Anderton (still in treatment room somewhere?)

Who says we never give young English managerial talent any chance? We just don't seem to have any talented young English managers!
