Only taken the job now Keane isnt in our dugout to deck him during the Derby
Typical timing though, Owen comes back to fitness, scores the goals & Mary Poppins takes the glory.

He has timed this very well - waited until it can't get any worse.
If they survive he is a hero, if they go down then it is what he inherited and he is there to rebuild.
The only problem is that's where Leeds were not so long ago...

I thought CH was running the show and doing OK
Poor old JK, dumped whilst in hospital.
I'm suprised that Shearer has agreed, I wouldn't have imagined Ashley wasn't his kind of boss.

No wins in 5, 7 points out of 36. They're doing wonderfully!
Can't see this saving them. Ashely must be hoping for a new manager bounce.

Apparently they are packing 30,000 fans into St James Park right now ready for the big parade of Shearer.......................then Sky Sports are going to fly a plane overhead with a banner trailing behind saying "Ha ha you've been had!"

Well they have sold plenty of their assest since Ashley came, and not spent anything like Leeds did. Ashley may or may not be a billionaire, he is still a very rich man, Leeds on the other hand borrowed on the back of future sucess, which they never got.

As for Shearer it's a win win situation, if he keeps them up he's an even bigger legend, if they still go down it was already too late

I still find it strange Shearer would go for it now, I know he's doing/done his coaching badges, but why not after KK left when he had more time and a transfer window to use.
We all know how much that place means to him, but I would have expected him to tip up in a couple of years after some experience elsewhere. What if they are relegated and he doesn't stay on, it could affect the rest of his manargerial career, at the very least it could prevent him returning to NUFC some time in the future.
I will ertainly be interesting to hear his side of it.
Would be a classic April fools if it was a wind up !

He's in a win, win situation.
If/when they go down, people will say the damage was done before hand, if they stay up then its all Shearer's great influence
The club's a big enough joke as its is.
Better a joke then the clowns at Sunderland and Boro tho

Don't get me wrong Richie, I hope Big "gay" Al succeeds and u stay up, and you get a new owner coz MA has done an awful job of running the place, you cant run a EPL club like a Sunday league outfit.

Dowie will be brains, Shearer the looks.
Dowie is actually an excellent manager and if he takes his Rugby trainer with him Newcastle will be the fittest they have ever been.

Alan Shearer has announced that next years sponsorship of NUFC will be Tampax.
A spokesperson from Tampax commented "To sponsor a bunch of f****s going through a bad period is exactly our purpose"
