Default January transfer window: a bit dull?

Well we're well over 3 weeks into it and yet, as far as I can see, none of the top 6 Premier League clubs has bought anyone significant. If it wasn't for the manic goings-on at at Eastlands, you wouldn't know that we were having a transfer window this year.

Maybe it'll liven up next week.

its boring mate. all the talks with no action. well there is action but no one of any importance wants to join the relegation battling blues.

Yids have been active and bought a few players. I just dont get them though, they spend a fortune on players who dont play well. no real depth as we saw the other day(cant resist a shot at the yids, sorry)

Arshavin has been going on for 2 long.

I do reckon drogba will go to wastelands though for a 32mill price tag

transfer window is too long imo, everything happens at the last-minute anyway, why not just make it a couple of weeks...........

Seems I stirred up some activity. Bullard to Hull and Heskey to Villa: the fans will be moaning that there are not enough foreigners at Villa these days! If only there was a top-class English keeper out there, Villa could regularly put out an all English 1st XI!

Heskey to Villa

I dont like the Jan transfer window. I think this window is what sent alot of football into the bigger money business faster than it would have grown anyway. People offering more now before contracts run out etc....

Who do you think will sign up super Wade Elliott? Does a great job for Burnley.

Was my best player when he use to play for my boys. He should be in the Premiership.

Is panic setting in at relegation threatened Portsmouth and Spurs?

Looks like Tony Adams has really lost the plot now. Who's he going to sign next Franz Beckenbauer?

Apart from Defoe, does anyone else like to go back to the struggling club that thought they weren't good enough a few months ago?

Villa look like theyre going to be taking a step back in tactics after building a nice midfield and playing too direct.

You're right of course. I remember the halcyon ( days when big Cyrille Regis was up front as our target man. Our defence punted up so many long ***** to him, that he actually developed a bald patch on the back of his head from all of the flick-ons!

Maybe we should consider the Heskey purchase as an added dimension to our game. Some times you need to win ugly. I can see Heskey grabbing the odd goal from Ashley Young crosses, when he's back in the team, so hopefully they won't be route 1 all of the time.

It's not in my genes to be optimistic about my football club, so I'll be amazed if Villa finish top 4, but they must be doing something right.

Martin O'Neill tactics all over. Its not going to be enjoyable to watch for the rest of the season. OK to use sometimes like you say as another dimension but I can see it being a main focus for you guys now

Remember this old nugget? With Keane heading back with his tail between his legs, it will be just like the good old days of Martin Jol down at the Lane.
