Typical poor showing from United in Europe away for me so far. Yes it's great to be leading but the formation takes so much away from Ronaldo and Rooney. You want Rooney at the back 4 and Ronaldo picking the ball up driving at the defence to create space. Anderson looks a bit off it tonight. On that Yellow I'd look to bring Giggs on who can play left or central. Vidic could prove to be a huge loss depending what he's done. possible cruciate there.

Wasn't a United performance though was it? It was like watching Liverpool at times but maybe that's needed in Europe to progress. Rio was MOTM. Masterclass in defending from him. Was in the right place all the time. Looked better at 4-4-2 but at that stage I guess the nulifying tactics had worked and taken the belief out of Roma plus they were leaving space pushing forward.

 

rio was immense tonight. thats game set match imo. know you cant put a foot wrong when the ball falls as kindly as it did for rooney.
