Dont like the look of this one.

Tim Sylvia is a big lumbering lump (not that i'd tell him to his face ). Don't like the way he fights at all.

The lesner fight could be interesting simply because hes a new fighter to the ufc.

This one could do with a good light heavyweight bout to liven it up.

gsp is always good for a tear up, and our very own mike bisping (met him in garlands night club in liverpool once!!), he's a cracking bloke...had a pint with him an everythin.

Sunday Bravo at 9.00pm.

Dont underestimate Lesner, the man has the money and time to train with the best in the world and dont really think he would come into this unprepaired.

i know uk gets it on bravo as said but thought ireland had it on setanta, or is that just that they have the irish/uk contract as Bisping fights are normally on setanta. looking forward to seeing this one as well. missed 80 was it any good?

Yeah, I saw him, he was a late substitute IIRC.

The guy can only beat what's put in front of him.
I just think you're being awfully dismissive of the guy (who is a pretty good athlete) when you have no idea how/where he has been training.

I think Bravo are losing tghe UFC to Setanta

I think Lesnar will be a good force in the UFC as his wrestling background will make him ideal for ground and pound as well as submissions.

He's also been training at some well respected camps so lets see what his striking is like, I think he'll try to prove he's a capable stand up as well.

And since when was Mir a stand up specialist. He is a submission guy and has never been the same since his accident. Would be nice to see him come back but I dont think its gonna happen.

mir's standup i'll agree is'nt the best...but watching countdown to 81 it looks really decent, frank needs to throw tons of leg kicks in this fight but i think mir can pull it off.

I think Lesnar will g n p Mir and Nog will submit Sylvia - you heard it here first But as is the UFC, anything could happen...

As for UFC on TV, in the past, Bravo have shown any American UFC event the following night, and any events in europe have been PPV.

As of June, Setanta will own the rights to all of UFC, cutting Bravo out of the loop.

This is bad in that you will have to fork out £10 / month to get Setanta, but good in that Setanta's coverage is second to none, they might even show the events live

big timmy as much as ppl hate him will win this one fairly easily, nog won't be able to close the distance, sylvia by ko rd 2/3, after nog is frustrated by being unable to get the takedown.

lesnar could well lay n pray a deision win, saw the weigh ins and he is huge!!, he looks like juggernaught, still think mir by ko (hopefully).

gutted about bravo losing the ufc contract but hey £10 a month for all events live aint so bad.

As my old kickboxing trainer used to tell us "its not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of fight in the dog".
Hope Lesner isnt another Bob Sapp his K1 career start was far from impressive.

I think Lesnar will beat Mir, since his accident his heart just hasn't been in it. I do hope I'm wrong though.

I see Lesnar being embarrassed in forthcoming fights though. Not unless Dana decides to give him easy fights to increase UFC's publicity by having a winning WWE star on the books (WWE is massive in the US, apparently - can't see the attraction myself).

just out of curiosity what would you guys think would happen to the other guy if lesnar managed to actually do a powerbomb or big wrestling move on him?

wwe is obviously what it is and as long as people land right it's not as destructive as it looks, but say a non wrestler got smashed into the canvas (and i'm guessing ufc doesn't have the padded, sprung flooring of a wwe ring) do you think it'll actually keep them down?

very unlikely to happen i know, just wondered what would happen

Just watched this fight, it was over pretty quick, and I think Brock Lesnar will do well in the UFC.
Lesnar has a lot more pedigree than your average WWE "Wrestler", just look him up on wikipedia or something. It a bit unfair to tar him with the same brush. In a way the WWE held him back, but made him a big name. If he went straight to UFC from peoper wrestling, not WWE, then no one would haveheard of him.

Watched the first 4-5 fights last night. Started watching my Sky+ at 10.15 and soon caught up to the live programme after fast forwarding all the ad breaks. Shocking.

//SPOILER ALERT

Anyway some great fights. Tyson Griffin looked very impressive especially with such a big opponent. Got taken down several times but straight back up.

Tim Boetsch was very impressive with those kicks and overall attacking aggression and technical skill.

Fair play to Mir for pulling out the win as it looked like he was going to get pounded. Lesnar made the rookie mistake of getting too excited and trying to get the spectacular quick win. Which was silly knowing how good Mir is at submissions.

Well, one call out of two isn't bad

Quite a good card. I think Lesnar has massive potential in the UFC. The only reason he lost was down to lack of experience. He had rocked Mir and just needed to show a bit of composure.

UFC next month see's Dan Henderson vs Anderson Silva...that will be an awesome fight. Its sending chills through me just thinking about it

Mir was deffo in trouble. I watched it again tonight and forgot about the ref stoppage and 1 pt deduction for the couple of punches to the back of the head. I personally thought that was very premature and allowed Mir some time to recover which could have swayed the fight. Normally you get a warning before the pt is deducted, esp with it being Lesnars first UFC fight. Maybe the rules are more stringent for Heavyweights due to the damage such a punch could cause.

Sylvia started well but showed why he doesnt deserve to be champ. No ground skills whatsoever - same reason Couture owned him. Also it annoys me how they were saying if he won he be first person win the title 3 times. What kind of accomplishment is that when he can only keep it for 2 fights max.

My money is on Silva. Henderson didnt impress me against Rampage and he had a lucky punch to take out Wanderlei in Pride last year. Silva is so well rounded I just dont see him being beat unless Henderson gets lucky with one big punch which is always possible in MMA.

Was seriously impressed with Lesnar, he lost due to bad luck and Mir having shed loads of experience. Mir was in big trouble at one point, i think Lesnar has got great potential and a good future in UFC.

Fair play to him

I think we do have to give credit to Mir as its not like its the first fight hes won this way. He got pounded by Sylvia early on and then just went to his back, grabbed Tims arm and broke it.

I thought Mir would lose but that was very much back to his old standards so hopefully we see a bit more of him. Nice to see a Heavyweight do something other than throw punches. Would be an interesting match up between him and couture or nogueira.
