I think Earl was outclassed from the first bell. I'm still not convinced Khan is the world champion they are lining him up to be but I hope I'm wrong...too many easy fights or is that me just being cynical?

There was a couple of ex-boxers on Talk Sport and they were saying that if mayweather fights to his max and so does hatton then Pretty boy wins everytime. I only take interest in the big Fights so i dont know a great deal about boxing but im starting to wonder if alot of us have been caught up in the hype over Ricky and that he only has a very small chance of winning.
I just hope he takes that chance.

How stupid the british public are. these fights are hyped up bigtime and over in seconds. until khan meets a class fighter like the mexican who put Naz on his **** it will continue and all you mugs will think he's the greatest.

Give Khan a break, hes young and working his way up through the ranks.
Put him up against world class at this stage and it will end his career before its begun.
His time will come, up until that time its all about gaining experience.
He is destined to be a great fighter.

Kahn wants to make the step up but its his management who wont let him, and rightly so, let him get experience in the ring before putting him up against other proper fighters. Was an entertaining 72seconds but even so, I knew thats how it'd go, hence never going to watch it lol

juan diaz was only 21 when he won his first world lightweight title,he is now 24 and has 3 of them.Agree he needs to go abroad as theres nobody seriously left in the country that can challenge him at lightweight, maybe a step up to light welterweight and fight Gavin Reece would be his best opportunity at a world title but i dont see frank warren allowing it

I disagree with most of you, Earl was ranked No 1 in the Uk and No 2 in Europe, he was taken out by some vicious work from Khan, who took the **** out of Earl, no doubt he needs to nuture his talent and fine tune it.
What do you want Khan to do fight some one lower ranked than him, the natural progression will be the European title next year, then moving on to some tougher opposition, someone from Mexico maybe
Link if anyone wants to see it again, or reconsider their verdict

I dont watch much boxing tbh - the only person Id make an effort to see is Calzaghe. His fight against Lacey is probably the most clinical and dominant Ive ever seen.
The main thing that annoys me about boxing is that there is so much made of being undefeated. I watch a lot of UFC and a guy can be reigning champ for 5-6 fights and then get his *** handed to him in round 1 so there is never an easy fight. No fighter is mollycoddled to get the best out of his career. This is the benefit of one organisation dictating the fights the fans want to see rather than the fights a boxers manager wants to progress his fighter at a pace which makes them the most money.
Kahn looks good but I dont know enough about his opposition to make a real judgement. Every time he fights they say hes up against the toughest fighter blah blah. To be fair though he is deadly accurate with those punches. The earl fight on sat night he must have landed at least 9 shots in a row all on the chin / forehead - no windmilling and just throwing as many punches as possible and hoping one hits.
Simon
P.S Dont get me started on wanting to see a world class boxer against any UFC top 5 fighter
P.P.S. Did you know that UFC pay per view now outsells boxing in the US?
