He's stayed so he gets his £2.5m payoff for being shiiite. Not to mention all the sponsorship he has cost the FA. Should have had the ***** to walk like Keegan did. That payoff is a disgrace when so many league 2 clubs are fighting off administration for want of a few grand with no FA help.
Better move to Brazil, i wouldn't show my face in public again.

Just been confirmed on Radio 1 too.
Venables to take over IMO... Cant see anyone else wanting to take the job on for the next 3-4 years.

Thing is where the hell was Venables all through the 1st half cos he wasn't sitting next to Mclaren! I've always rated El Tel and think he may be the only one who would stomach 3 years of no major tournaments and a year with no competitive games.

I have a feeling a few heads will roll within the FA too.
Its time for a complete change within the infrastructure, too many conflict of interests between Premiership and England IMO.
I suspect there'll be a caretaker for obvious friendlies pre Euro2008, then an appointment post finals

Entire country was right when we said don't appoint McLaren. Barwick, the idiot in charge at the FA has effectively wasted millions because he didn't listen to anyone. He should go and a former player should be put in charge. I'd like to see shearer head up the FA.
Glad Venables has gone too. Just as useless IMHO

Ah yes but he'll probably teach them how to miss a vital penalty

Fabio Cappello apparently has thrown his hat into the ring. He is one of the most successful club managers with such huge names as Juve, Milan, Roma and Real and the titles he's won but I bet the FA don't even consider him as that would actually seen to be doing something sensible!

Ooooooh bitchy
What was funny in the Bulgaria/England match Walcott got a penalty and wanted to take it but Pearce gave Milner penalty duties and the camera zoomed in on walcott who was a bit miffed saying '****ing bull****' so it's nice to see Pearce installing some of his calm, unemotional play into the team

So would be have gone if we had drawn and scraped through??
I think he should have done and maybe we could have had a manager that could have sorted things out before the finals. Just dreaming

I dont doubt it Paul, it was posted just for your pleasure, going off the fact that after seeing your last joke I presumed you were still living in the 80's so thought you might appriciate it

My vote would be for Capello
Proven track record, tactically astute, won major European honours
Sam Alladyce,can't believe he's even in the frame!Won nothing,done nothing,talks a great game,load of shi*e.****i* thick as sh&t but not as useful!!
The Great British Press/Media wanted an English manager after Sven and they got one,but unforunately the best they could come up with was McLaren.....Bollo*
Lets face it,the England managers job is a poison chalice!
McLaren should have done the decent thing and resigned but all he could think about was his multi million pound payoff....******!!
All in my humble opinion of course!!

I agree, Capello is the most successful manager who is interested in the job. However he has no experience of the English game but then neither does Scolari and he was touted before Mclaren. Scolari does have International experience which Capello doesn't. No doubt an excellent manager but I guess still a gamble.
O'Neil? Allardyce? Please, neither of those would be any good at International level and would be no better that Mclaren
