Default need some new 5-a-side ***** (outdoor) what do i buy??

after a lay off will be starting footie again tonight and a call has gone out for some new *****. had a quick look on ebay and there's too much choice and i don't really know what to go for.

there's indoor ***** which i gather will be no good in pissing rain, normal looking ***** and training *****.

the normal ***** is a bit of a minefeild as if they're too hard no-one's gonna want to go in goal

probably some cheapy thing from JJB's will do in the end, but does anyone regularly play and found a good, long lasting lightish ball?

ta

Spend about £10-12 on a ball from JJB, the cheaper ones are as you say rock hard.

I usually play Mondays too, an ankle injury put me out for a few weeks and i didn't miss it, so looks like I'm going to knock it on the head. At 36 it's not much fun anymore and i appreciate the fact I can walk down the stairs on a tuesday morning pain free.

For a normal sized football the best Ive ever used is the current Nike Tiempo (white with yellow & black), I use it for shooting practise, hit it on the sweet spot and it moves like no other ball I've used............its lethal!!

I paid £10 for a Champions League ball from Sports Direct. Its been our Sunday league match ball for the last few games and seems just right Dunno how it will fair on astroturf though.

no, far from it mate. i stretch for at least 1/2 hour before i go using techniques from the physio room website and then light jog/stretch before playing. i'm just getting old

but even a year ago, when we first started last time round, the first 2/3 weeks were killer the next day with aches. after about a month i was fine.

i've got to stretch out properly now as i've got a bit of a back problem so really can't afford to twinge that by going in cold.

mattw - ankles are a weak point with me too (used to sprain them alot as a kid and apparently if you sprain them too much they'll be weak for ever) shame to miss out if you enjoyed it buddy, there's a couple of over 40's that play with us and one of them can run rings round us younger ones (the git )

anyways we all payed £50 upfront for 12 weeks last night, so rain or shine i'll try to be there
