Pleased for the bloke !

IMHO Best English keeper by a long way....we all make mistakes
mr mclaren you more than most

His perfromance today got Pompey a draw, and of the few pompey games I've watched on motd/sky this year he has won them a lot of points

Can never understand why Villa got rid of him for "past his sell
by date get a few bums on seats" Scmicheal

Bad mistake by John Gregory, would welcome hime back to Villa park with open arms.

Exclamation

Schmeichel - 42% of all games he played in were clean sheets, 2nd best Seaman with 41% of all games. Calamity has finally got there (in the low 30% IIRC) but he'd be better concentarting on his team and all those many games where he threw the ball in his own net rather than chasing personal goals

To be fair though Fat Boy, both Schmeichel and Seaman (especially Seaman) had the considerable advantage of playing behind a decent back four. James has never really had that luxury.
When he played for us for example he had the defensive nightmare that was Phil Babb to contend with

Surely they (him and the team) have the same goal?

Wink

A clean sheet helps both, true. It was just the way he was talking the other night that got my goat up - it was all "I'm very pleased with myself; aren't i brilliant?" ignoring the many blunders he's made over the years which drove some of his teams followers to distraction. Playing behind Phil Babb cannot have been easy, granted, but there have been many poor decisions made in, for instance, one on one situations or back passes where he could and should have dealt with things better.

A top striker clean through on goal with Schmeichel, Cech or Calamity in goal in their pomp? I know that as a defending fan i'd be a lot more happy with either of the first two in goal rather than the self confessed legend James.
