As we are all well aware football authorities have always bottled it, be it UEFA,FIFA the FA the Italian FA for example and never give out the sentences the fans think are appropriate.
The Lille incidents will be the 1st major incidents Platini will have to deal with as UEFA president, being a Frenchman, a fan of the smaller clubs it will be interesting to see what the outcome is.
If you add it all up
Lille's seating policy changing.
The french police' response to the crushing - batons and tear gas, by all accounts the French police were pretty brutal.
The Lille teams attempt to walk off - after being encouraged too by the coach.
The missile throwing by the Lille fans.
There is quite a lot to answer too and if it was aimed at my club I'd be worried.
I think kicked out of the competion for this season, a review of Lille and the French security procedures, and banned for two seasons from all European competition, which I think under the circumstances would be fair.
What I expect UEFA to hand out
3 games behind closed doors and a slap on the wrist.

Mentioned this in the deleted thread, Platini will bottle it against his fellow countrymen
And he'll say that is why the EPL needs less teams in the CL because the fans always cause trouble or something pants

Well after the United fans going on the pitch and causing trouble for the french police it should even things out and just forgive and forget

To be fair though that's not entirely UEFA's fault.
All the other European national FA's, rightly or wrongly, fight the corners of their member clubs (like any good union should).
The spineless weasels at the English FA on the other hand (usually under pressure from the government of the time), always automatically assumes any blame that's going on behalf of whichever English club is involved and generally insists that any punishment UEFA hands down isn't severe enough into the bargain

Its all politics and if your face fits... English clubs are deemed trouble because of a minority of travelling support causing trouble, or thats the stereotype...
I cant see much being done to be honest. Kick them out the competition and a review of their seating and crowd managment policy's.. In this day and age that just shouldnt be happening.
