Default Doug Ellis Interview

Did anybody else hear this on Radio Five Live today?
It was nauseatingly bad. What an egotistical old fool.

*I build the stadium
*I beat cancer in twenty days
*I have had six major operations
*I have five seats in the director's box
*I have my own table in the boardroom
*I drive a rolls
*Platini is a good friend of mine
*Lennart Johansson is a good friend of mine
*I spent £120 million on players in the last eight years
*I signed Martin O'Neill
*I have my own office
*I still continue with my charity work
*Brian Little - a boy I took at 14 years of age
*I became the founder of the package tourist industry
*I operated 27 flights a week on my own
*I introduced the youth team system that won us the league and european cup
*Chairman from Newcastle and Barcelona etc request to spend time with me so they can learn how to run a club
*I have a new yacht

This is my personal favourite though

*I had nothing to do with naming the stand after myself. I was so surprised

He does have an ego, but don't be short sighted chaps, the old boy has done us OK. We were in good enough financial shape to be taken over...look at Leeds if you want an example of what can happen if you get in wrong!

I think he is passionate about Villa but wanted to do it carefully. Unfortunately the way the game has moved on, he had taken the club as far as he could.

Randy would never have taken over had we not been in a good financial position. Lets hope he moves things on.....champions league in 2/3 years?

I actually felt a twinge when the daft old sod buggered off.. but soon recalled the only times of tangible glory I personally can recall for the Villa.. European Champs etc. during Ellis's Last sabbatical from the 'hotseat'..
so... Heres to a long and fruitful partnership between Lerner and 'the quiet man' O'Niell...

Shaun Maloney

He was nothing more than a bit part player at Celtic Park.

Martin's downfall will be trusting his old players.

Petrov leaving was the best thing to happen to Celtic in years. £8 Million for a championship player He couldnt lace Paul Hartleys boots

Savo was an Enigma.. marmite of a sort.. I liked the Lad... Untill he spat at the Holte.
Merson was a bloody decent midfielder and fitted in well.. we've not had a midfielder like him since the days of 'sid' Cowans.
Alpay... well what can ya say ?!?!
Dublin.. heart on sleeve old fashion type centre forward. should have £watted Savage properly
the rest , including JPa, nowt special
best 'gifted' player down at the park in a long time was Luc Nillis.. shame he smashed his leg
