Default Browns "Tackle" on Giggs

Did anyone else see that ?? assault ?? the ball had gone and he totally changed direction and gave Giggs both feet on the thigh and knee, probably the most blatant attempt to maim another player I have seen in a long while, fooking shocking.

I'd be interested to see if it even makes the papers when I go to buy one, one thing is for sure if a certain Mr Rooney had made that tackle it would be front and rear on the red tops.

It will also be interesting to see if the FA ban him, many a high profile player has been banned after the media have blown upa bad challengeand the FA have reviewed the video evidence.

There should be zero tolrence for that kind of challenge.

Rooney gets baned for 3 games for an elbow that didn't look anything like a sending off offence, yet Brown only gets a yellow for a 'challange' which could have broken Giggs' leg.

Hope the FA decide in get involved in this one aswell.

An appaling tackle, as said if it was a well known player it would be all over the papers/news etc but it wont be and i cant see anything else come of it either Could have ended his career early with something as stupid as that

Exactly what I said during the match - if Rooney (or any United player, for that matter) did something slightly similar, he'd have been straight off, hauled across the coal by the media and faced certain condemnation.

The thing is, I believe, is that if the referee saw the challenge for what it was and only produced a yellow, there's little the FA can do. Although I think on closer inspection, he'll make sure it's mentioned in his match report and perhaps cite that he didn't fully see the incident from his point of view.

The more I see it the worse it gets.

Unfortunately, I agree with G-STAR. The referee must have seen something to give Brown the yellow card, and I think that ties the FA's hands.

Incidents like this make the FA's stance on backing up (or at least not undermining) their referees a bad one. Referees, like anybody else, can make mistakes. Players like Brown should not get off lightly because of those mistakes. He should get a minimum of a 3 match ban for that tackle, irrespective of what the referee did or didn't see.

It was a disgrace! Done to one of the best pros around as well. Brown should get a 5 match ban at least. No place in the game for what he did.

Was a nasty tackle ! Was very lucky not to get sent off !

The one against Portsmouth was ok as it was on Sean "Judas" Davis !

All jokes aside ! he doesnt know how to tackle ! those havent been the only two ! We needed someone to battle in the midfield as we are too nice but thats not on !

Reminded me of Roy Keane.

AFAIK the Police can still arrest him for Assault. Giggs should report him !
