Battle of the Champions.......
A wee match report from last nights Chealsea v Celtic game.
Celtic Started with a pretty strong side:
Boruc
Wilson
Wallace
Caldwell
McManus
Lennon
Jari
Sno
Naka
Pearson
Miller
McGeady, Zurawski and Riordan came on in the second half
Chelsea played with mostly regulars:
Cudicini, Terry, Canevallo, Ferrera, Brigde, Lamplard, Robben, wright-phillips, Drogba, someone else and that new kid that they battled man utd for.
Halftime seen the introduction of Shevchenko, Ballack, Essien and Geremi
Celtic played 4 5 1 with Jari pushing up to win some headers, worked pretty well with Jari outjumping Terry a few time and the full back most if the time. Miller did struggle to latch onto anything though.
Wilson kept Robben at bay for most of the game, and when he did get by him, Wilson managed to get a covering tackle back.
Wallace was excellent at left back handling WrightPhillips most of the time. Although he did score, but that came from the chelski left.
Pearson had some nice runs, getting by Ferrerrrri a few times but final ball was crap.
Naka was well out of it and hardly got a touch on any note that I could see, did play a few nice triangles though and some qualtiy corners.
Lennon was solid in midfield but now to the man of the match
EVANDER SNO was absolutley fooking brilliant!! He ran midfield, always passed to feet, kept Lamplard quiet, won tackles and gererally strolled about is if he owned the place. Even when Balack came on, he was pretty quite again because Sno had him in his pocket. Although some credit has to go to Lennon also.
I honestley felt that an outsider looking in on that game would have rated Sno as the 30million pound midfielder. ok, so I might be carried away a wee bit, but this guy is a player and could a Larrsonesque type bargain find.
Anyway Celtic played really well and totally deserved the draw, Shevechenko had a few sights of goal, with Boruc making 1 exceptional save. Boruc was pretty solid through out and had to be as cheslski did create chances.
Caldwells goal was a scrappy corner affair and Wrighphillips a nice strike from the edge of 18 yard box.
All in all a great night, Celtic fans bossed the singning as usual. Only real problem came after the game. We were kept in for about 30 mins ,a few chants of 'Just like Guan-tan-emo.....Just like Guan-tan-emo' and 'Have you seen a handsome steward' kept the spirits up. We were then then hearded out the stadium surrounded by cops in full riot gear and given no choice but to be crushed onto a tube and sent to Victoria Station........really treated like animals athough the spirit in the ground was excellent. A few scuffles outside the ground as the Chelsea loons charged us and the cops, but no real incidents. Looking back the keeping us late and riot gear treatment was probably for our own protection more that anything else.
anyway there you go

The someone else was Diarra.
Not surprised you were kept in a while. We passed a pretty big mob waiting near the Pickled Pelican (road is parallel to Fulham Road) who seemed intent on doing some damage. Was amazed that given the way every pub was surrounded before the game with the old bill, that there were none in sight around these geezers after the game.
