Even if we had him in the side, we'd have continued to play boring football.

The English league does not play like that...we play high tempo attacking football.

Every game in the world cup was boring........well this was exciting but not for the right reasons.

Rooney was frustrated by Svens tactics - grrrrrrrr another 4 years to wait now!

How can we play in such a way that Beckham, Gerrard and Lampard are ineffective!

At least there'll be no Beckham, Neville or Eriksson at the next world cup.
Just hope Mclaren's got the bullet by then.

Not even remotely gutted

We played ****e football all tournament, England have excited no one.

Sadly the new manager will be the current coach, don't see it getting any better any time soon.

Some great players in that team, what an ability Sven has to make them look crap, as the Dr says we play fast hi tempo football in England FFS not that boring ****e we have witnessed for the past 3 weeks, I have beef with the players they've just been asked to do something which is alien to the majority of them, I only hope McClaren learns from this, otherwise were doomed.

Whats Neville got to with any of it ? Alg

Funkii Munkii
He's crap!!(neville)

We heard in the Papers from Sven that England had been practising taking penalties every day.
Problem is there wasn't any mention of anyone scoring any of them.

And people were booing him first game

Joe Cole, excellent again. Rooney up front alone again was a crap decision.

Felt bad for the boys crying at the end. They need a manager with a bit of fire in his veins to get them moving!

We deserved it IMO, we didn't deserve to win the previous game.

Finally we accumulate the best squad we've had in many years, and we take a manager who's so tactically inept he's not fit to manage a sunday league team

What's the point in taking players you have no intention of playing? It's all well and good the tw@t saying he was saving Walcott for the Final, guess what you Fcukwitted Swedish ****, we aren't going to be in the ******* final

Why bring Joe Cole off for Crouch, if you are going to operate a lone striker, you need to support him, for the previous 60 minutes the only one supporting Rooney was Cole. It would have been better to sacrifice Lampard or Gerrard (bias on my part says Lampard) and bring Hargreaves (who I think was outstanding) up as a true holding midfielder rather than a 3rd centre half!

Agree with anything you've said.

I kept hoping we'd get better, but we never did.

Rooney was a yellow at most, still not sure what he got the red for.

Sven is Mr Italian football boring

Walcot was a very bad mistake - Sven will never admit it though.

Walcott was not good enough for the prem, so not good enough for the weltmeister.

Edited for beered up spelling.
After his performances this summer I bet you are well happy that Ashley Cole is staying too! I've always been impressed with him, but over the past weeks he has proven that he is amongst the best in the world

PS: What the **** inspired Aaron Lennon to sign for Spurs, with that sort of talent & ability he could have gone to any big club he liked

Sven looked totally uninterested - just sat on the bench like - probably think what to spend all the millions hes made from the England job on

Thought we played better after Rooney got sent off - couple of good chances that shouldnt have been missed really.

Hargreaves - outstanding!!! Thats how you prove your critics wrong - EASILY the best player - pity they didnt all put in as much effort as he has done in all the games in this world cup. No doubt added at least £10m to his value.

Oh and as for Ronaldo - little t@wt - I hope the Utd fans give him the reception he deserves next time at Old Trafford!!

Actually apart from the one shot he got off in the first half, I thought we kept him fairly well contained, most of his 'dazzling' runs came to nothing, in a Mcmanaman stylee

Rooney would have been sent off for the stomp on the player's nuts, the push on ronaldo would not have been sanctioned as such.

I am shocked that FIFA sent an Argentinian referee for this game especially as at the time of selection, Argentina still had a chance to go through. Does this not bring into light that maybe FIFA are not being as neutral on their selection as they should be which brings forward more questions....?

As for the cheating aspect of things, I'll say very little on this apart from what someone said on the thread I posted about the Italians - it's a part of the professional game now no matter how much it is hated and unprofessional. One of the major contributors if not major contributor to this type of unfair play continuing are the referees who if they stomped it out and took a hard line (cautioning for simulation as they should due to it being an automatic sanction by caution!) and FIFA took action also in their match review committees after each game if there was something missed then maybe, just maybe players would not strive to cheat their way to fouls, penalties and at worst a match win......they get away with it, so they milk it. You can't blame them for doing it, however I would like to think that players who are playing professional and internationaly would take more pride in their play. However, I feel pride is now replaced by the greed of money and other things. Very few are left who can be called true talented football players.
