I bet 9 out of 10 women would rather be with fun loving Brian o'Driscoll as well rather than any of the "up their own ar$e's" england players

Grrreeeaaaatttttt, they would have been beat last week too if it wasn't for three illegal tries and some other dodgy playing
One knock-on
One forward pass
One offside

hair pulling and finally picking a man up and slamming him into the ground WWE style

I'd just like to point out that my maternal grandparents are Scottish, so I would consider a place on any Scottish national team

And NewToScoob, I didn't see the match as I was working so can't comment.

I have to agree, the only National Anthem worse than ours is Italy's comedy quick step.

They played Land of Hope and Glory at the Commonwealth games.

"National anthem", in other words, the anthem of the nation.
The nation is England, the anthem is NOT God Save the Queen!

Flower of scotland is not Scotlands national anthem - Its Scotland the Brave (ancient folk song of the celts), flower of scotland has merely been adopted de facto and was written by Roy Williamson of the Corries.

O Flower of Scotland,
When will we see
Your like again,
That fought and died for,
Your wee bit Hill and Glen,
And stood against him,
Proud Edward's Army,
And sent him homeward,
Tae think again.

The Hills are bare now,
And Autumn leaves
lie thick and still,
O'er land that is lost now,
Which those so dearly held,
That stood against him,
Proud Edward's Army,
And sent him homeward,
Tae think again.

Those days are past now,
And in the past
they must remain,
But we can still rise now,
And be the nation again,
That stood against him,
Proud Edward's Army,
And sent him homeward,
Tae think again. 0 Flower of Scotland,
When will we see
your like again,
That fought and died for,
Your wee bit Hill and Glen,
And stood against him,
Proud Edward's Army,
And sent him homeward,
Tae think again.

Scotland the Brave

Hark where the night is falling
hark hear the pipes a calling
Loudly and proudly calling down thru the glen
There where the hills are sleeping
Now feel the blood a leaping
High as the spirits of the old highland men

Towering in gallant fame
Scotland my mountain hame
High may your proud standards gloriously wave
Land of my high endeavor
Land of the shining river
Land of my heart forever, Scotland the Brave
High in the misty mountains
Out by the purple highlands
Brave are the hearts that beat beneath Scottish skies
Wild are the winds to meet you
Staunch are the friends that greet you
Kind as the love that shines from fair maidens eyes

Ah, so relevant means harping on about a battle victory from centuries ago? Got it.

Yep the world champions England were humbled today and now the 6 nations is up for grabs.
My money on the frogs now and might put a £10 side bet on England, only if we can sort out the lineout before we meet the welsh.

Btw i feel slightly better after hearing the scots were beaten by the Italians and will probably now finish last in the six nations and get the wooden spoon.

Thumbs down Worst England performance in years

It had to come, and to be honest, I'm glad the Irish beat us, as a) they deserved it more than any other nation, from their gutsy performances in the World Cup, and b) England have been getting way too complacent.

Now that the Twickenham and unbeaten run is over, maybe some of the England personnel can stop worrying about when and if they'll be beaten, and concentrate on what they do best - playing rugby.

The match was terrible really, with both teams playing scrappy rugby. Let's face it, if Ireland had played to their best, the result would have resembled a cricket scoreline.

As for England "being put in their place"... I doubt anyone from the victorious Ireland side would argue against England being still the No. 1 national side in Rugby Union.

But, it has to be said, without the likes of Wilkinson, Catt and the now retired Johnson, they're lacking in key areas.

That said, I think Sir Clive needs to rethink his current strategy of playing people out of their normal positions, as it's certainly backfired this time!

The fate of this year's Six Nations is now wide open... but as a fan of the game, I have to admit, the game between England and Ireland was a disappointment, as neither side played to their potential.

Had it been a match of England (pre-World Cup, which is when they played their best IMHO) vs Ireland (when they should have beaten the Aussies in the World Cup) then it'd have been a feast of rugby.

As Dallaglio said, the Irish deserved it today, and as an Englishman, I wish them well for the rest of the tournament. That said, I would still like to see us win it, if only on points from beating both the Welsh and the French!

Did anyone else reckon Dellalio(sp) was offside for the try? Apparently he has blood relations which qualify him to play for Ireland, England and Italy. Glad he choose England
