You can't blame him.
He's never going to win anything with Sheff U. But saying that, you could say the same with Spurs...........
Still, it is a step up.

ITS ALL ABOUT MONEY...DARREN HUCKERBY WOULD RATHER STAY AT MAN CITY RESERVES ON 20K A WEEK THAN COME TO NORWICH TO PLAY REGULAR FIRST TEAM FOOTBALL ON "ONLY" 12K WHICH THEY OFFERED

Where`s the loyalty to the club gone?
Pi$$es me off when a club like ours take a player that is doing nothing in a reserve side give them first team football, bring them on, for them to f*ck off as soon as any big club comes in.
I hope he can`t get in the Spurs starting line up ( which would be unusual coz Spurs are ****e ) and has to stop in the reserves.
That would be justice for me.
Judus.

Mate, this sort of thing has been going on for YEARS: you should support a club in division 3, when you get a HALF decent player, and within 6 months the directors are talking about "not standing in the lad's way", while rubbing their hands together on the way to the bank.
I used to LOATHE Liverpool, after they paid us a miserly £38,000 for Keegan AND Clemence, at the same time as ManU gave Bournemouth £100,000 for Ted McDougal, (Who????)
And it's STILL going on now: look at players like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. He spends 75% of his time in the ManU reserves, so is, in effect, lost to football: who gets to see him???
It's crap, and it always will be:
It's ONE of the reasons I do my supporting from an armchair now:

happens all the time, career not going anywhere...have one good season...premier league offer...see you later
can't blame them really but it would be nice to have a little bit of loyalty.

Here's what happens if you support a small 3rd division club:
Beginning of season/preseason:
"The directors have loads of ambition this year. They will fund us out of division 3".
Mid-season:
"We need a player. There is no money. The directors never promised any MORE money."
6 weeks later:
"Mick Snurge has been watched by other clubs agin. He's had a good season despite our mid-table position. The directors feel it would be unfair to stand in the lad's way, so he might be sold. Any money from the sale will be used for team strengthening"
2 weeks later:
"Mick snurge sold ! To a team in the same division or one in the division we wish we could get into.
Sold for not much, but money WILL be used to strengthen the team DURING THE CLOSED SEASON".
Closed season:
"Because of our low position last season, and the low crowds that went with it, especially after the sale of Mick Snurge, the club lost money faster than they expected to, so there is now no money for team strengthening.":
Preseason:
"The directors have ambition. They will..................."
Anyone see the pattern?
And this goes on year after fekkin year!!!!

At the end of the day football players are just trying to make a living like everybody else (be it a damn sight more money)
whether they are playing in the 1st team or not, they are just wanting to make enough money to support their lifestyle when they retire from the game.
With not many top players making it past 38 years of age, and the risk of getting a serious injury one day and not being able to play again, why not go where the money is?
This is only my view, which I think is logical.

Michael Brown has done a job for us & thats that. He's not played well all season, might be cause he's played with an injury.? But last season was a feak season for him, he will never score 20+ goals again. To be honest ive been waiting for this moment for the past 18 months.... but now he has gone, and as of 01/01/04 he plays for Spurs. But lets see what Warnock brings in to fill his boots... Hopefully Sturridge will bang in some goals & make his move permanant!! Browny played very well off old timer McCall so see what he can do to spurs... Never know sext season he might be playin Div 1 footy with Spurs.....
