Leeds going into receivership?

TelBoy,
I take it you've never encountered a bunch of Leds fans in a dark alley, or been to Elland Road and watched/listened their "Munich" aeroplane chants/songs, and listened to their racist sh**e??
A more bigoted and insular set of supporters you would be hard pushed to find, IMHO.
That's why I'd laugh.

There's nothing official yet i concede, although Leeds Utd would be the last people to admit that sort of thing, naturally.
Apparently they need a few million to ease their immediate cashflow "issues", which the reduced price for Kewell, and the non-sale of Robinson to Arsenal, haven't helped. Their stockmarket value is now just £13m - things aren't looking good. Fingers crossed.

I heard about this. Something to do with Robbie Fowler claiming they owe him £2.5million or something.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...ed/3063831.stm denies it.

"Newcastle next..."
As the best performing listed Football Club in the World (financially), I think not...
52,000 home gates, huge merchandise sales, Champions League Football (again), and sound financial management see to that.
Cheers

"Tell me how you come to that conclusion????"
Easy - it was on BBC Radio 5 Live and the listings were in Bloomberg.
Simon
I'm not stupid and wouldn't make such a statement if it wasn't true.

I assumed u heard/read it somewhere. I was just curious as to what what determines "financial best performer" because I dont see NUFC ahead of MUFC in terms of gate receipts, merchandising nor share profits.

Pontificating
Here's something I posted in another Forum regarding this, I may be talking complete Bo Larks just my opinion
Its probably for the best
Look at Leicester, they went into administration and the consortium that bought them out only had to pay £5m, they owed a lot more than that.
I can see Leeds gladly going into receivership, probably around Christmas time, then some money bags oil rich Sheik will pick them up on the cheap, be able to pay all the creditors off with 30p in the pound and have enough cash left over to get Strachan on board and the money to buy players because he got the club on the cheap, pretty disgusting really but every chance of happening, what would you, do buy them now and pay off the £80m or wait a while and get it for a 1/4 of that, sound financial sense.
Could some city whizzkid tell me they cant do this please?

some city whizzkid
In short, you're absolutely right, they *could* do this. The only things that are probably preventing it from happening sooner rather than later are;
1. The moral aspect, linked with
2. Egos in the boardroom
3. The risk that the creditors say "No" to any settlement suggestions, and Leeds go bankrupt.
4. If they are relegated, they start next season -10 points, so it could be the start of a downward spiral.
5. The ability of any new Leeds Utd company to obtain credit.
As long as they think there is a chance that number 3 will not happen, i think the egotisical and moral concerns will begin to erode, and administration will be accepted.
To be honest, unless somebody stumps up £100m cash anytime soon, they really won't have any choice.
Cheers Mr Ridsdale.

Leeds won't go bankrupt......people go bankrupt
Chances are they will put them selfs into administration........it looks to be the best option, i am of cause refering to the holding company which ownns leeds united football club. It's also depends on what position the Bank takes on this aswell as the F.A, they frown upon clubs wiping out creditors claims and chances are they wouldn't issue a playing permit for next year..........but hey what do i know.........i only work in insolvency !
