Is it really needed after all?

The BALL is an essential part of the game, however many
problems occur when it:
* Refuses to move unless someone touches it.
* Refuses to leave the field of play.
* Refuses to cross the goal line between the goal posts.
* Enters the field of play without the Referee's permission.
* Goes out over the goal line or touch line and then
decides to re-enter the field without the Referee of
Assistant Referee noticing.
* Gets carried away with wind conditions.
* Loves to travel long distances and in any direction.
* Gets into offside situations without permission.
* Gets caught up with players and they resort to kicking
each other, rather than the ball - "I was going for the ball
Ref".
* When kicked or headed by a player makes up its own mind
which direction to take.
* At penalty kicks it will aim straight for the goal post,
crossbar or advancing goal keeper. Often it will miss all
together and go wide or travel well over the crossbar.
* Injuries to players - struck in the face, body (top and
bottom) or legs with NO Apology.
* Only receives a "CAUTION" or "SEND OFF" when fatigue sets
in and it deflates.
* Prefers to be carried rather than dropped by Referee.
To sum up do we really need the ball at all? It is an
essential part of our beautiful world game but it sure does
cause us a great deal of trouble!!!
