Golf Range
#1
Went to a Golfing range for the first time ever. i had no idea on how to play or hold the club. Just walked in there and asked them how much and give me any iron.
Had a really good time and i take it back that i think golf is for old people.
So.. does anyone know of a good website where i can learn how to hold the club and stand?

Yep - get a few lessons - learn the basics and avoid bad habits from the start. Once you start doing things wrong, it is very hard to change them!

It will be the best 20quid you'll ever spend!
Unless you've playing golf for 28 years and you go for your first lesson to cure a fade and the pro rips your entire swing, grip, weight transferance to bits and leaves you feeling like an Alien holding a golf club and haven't been able to play decent golf for the last 2 months.... he said it would take time

Or even worse you could be cack handed and have been holding the clubs wrong for 20 years and then your truely buggered, I tried holding the club properly (left hand above right for right handers) and I cant hit a thing its hilarious, ive been holding it wrong for so long i cant change, having said that my mate also holds it cack handed and he plays off 8!!

For someone like me thats gonna play once a month i'll keep the money to myself just read a quick beginners guild and im happy with it.
i'll use my martial arts training. Take the swing and bin it then modify it to suit me

ps. using a 7 Iron and hitting it about 150 metres. Is that good or bad for a beginner?
