I agree Pete, Celtic made Blackburn look better than they actually are at times during the match, maybe Celtic had an off night but they do look a long way behind the Prem IMHO, and leeds looked like they would struggle in the Israeli league

oh the joy of having both matches on one screen, have to say the celtic game was the better of the two

Dave

An honest opinion, we were awful, Blackburn actually looked as if they could play the game, we looked a bunch of school bhoys.

Quote "Blackburn can't play much better, Celtic can't play much worse" ok so it's a Mark Lawrence (sp?) quote, but it's a fair point.

Last year Juventus, Valencia, Porto, and Rosenburg came to Parkhead and got beat.
This year Basle (who drew 2-2 at Anfield) and Blackburn both came to Parkhead and got beat.
One bad game does not make a bad team.

OK so last night we were pants, but we got the win and that's what counts. Watch out Blackburn, you got us on a bad day and should have punished us, you failed to do it and will pay the penalty.

During the game I was also doing a lot of this.

Thumbs down

Just watching Celtic v Blackburn, no score as yet - but Blackburn are making Celtic look like Glasgow Boy Scouts XI

Now, Celtic are, by far and away, the best team in Scotland

Blackburn, with due respect, are lower premier table also rans

AND Celtic wants to join the BIG boys in the English league??????

Yes, ok, but lets put them with the teams that will suit them - The RYAN League!!! Forget putting them in with the best England can offer as they will get thrashed week in, week out and drop to the lower leagues anyway!!

All IMHO, of course!

Question

Now, they go and score!!

It was still against the run of play - so my reasoning still applies!

Celtic play cr@P most of the time but still seem to win - but if you look at the SPL table they are not the best at the mo - even Motherwell can beat them

Pete - Rangers are currently top of the SPL - however the best team in Scotland just now are definately Blackburn Rovers - Unless they went home last night

I think the final result speaks for itself though

Sent those English girls back home with their tails between their legs .... again

As for Rangers being the best team in the SPL ... well, best of two at the moment

You have to put this into perspective - Celtic are steets ahead of any other Scottish team bar Rangers and Blackburn are an average Premiership side.

Blackburn outplayed Celtic at Celtic Park and were unfortunate to lose. Let's wait for the second leg...

I would quite like to have Celtic and Rangers in the English league but there is no way they have the right to enter straight into the Premiership, they should start in Div 1 at best. I would love to give it to all them Scots and prove once and for all that Celtic and Rangers would make average Premiership sides...assuming they gain promotion to the Premiership of course!

Hail-Hail - that's what I've always liked about the Bhoys fans - they're honest (unlike your blue nosed *friends* across the city). SwinYE5 - Celtic & Rangers could both do very well in the Premiership as they have a huge GLOBAL following (especially Celtic) and it's **** all to do with footballing ability - Probably the only reason they aren't in the premiership now is because the current Premiership Chairmen are worried about having them their - go one you choose between these clubs and who would survive ahead of Celtic or Rangers;

Charlton
Fulham
Man City
WBA
Southampton
West Ham
Blackburn
Bolton
Middlesboro
Spurs

Celtic and Rangers'll never get in the PL. UEFA would immediately say 'right then, no more Scottish national team, just a Great Britain side for the lot of you!'

Mel Gibson would then be elected as chairman of the SPL! And he'd lead the hairy hoards into Glasgow, burning down both stadia.

Sorted.

Sorry SwinYE5 - you seems to be implying that getting into the prem had something to do with football - I was trying to make the point that it's all to do with money. ie If Celtic & Rangers where to replace say Southampton and Manchester United then the "Product" would be much better
