Nice one Joe and Cookie
Suspect this will be a really one sided affair.

- Men vs boys, it would seem. Sad, the decline of the Windies.
- What do you think to the so-called 'spectacle'?
I find it actually harder to track the pink ball.... Even WITH a new (almost luminous) ball under the lights! It's too light - not 'contrasty' enough -
against the green grass.

I agree ! They must have put a lot of thought into the colour but it is harder to see IMO?!

I think the pink pigment is dictated by practicalites/desired characteristics (Sky did a piece on it before play, interviewing the proprietor of Duke).
Otherwise, it'd be FAR better to have a genuine luminous ball...that would properly light up!
Shame, really.

Windies are a shadow of their former self at the min, given the number of young players they have coming through there's potential for them to become a pretty good team in the next few years though.

Westley is struggling big time against a second rate bowling attack.
No chance of making the Ashes tour party.
Probably the worst No 2 and No 3 ENG have had in years, they really need to fill these holes in time for Oz

- Pivotal, potential enthralling day for you, in store...
Can England get a decent lead to bowl at. Ideally, around 230 - or 200 at the very bare minimum, I would think. So will need to bat really well to get to IRO 370-400+...!!
# Roooooooooot #
- Fair play to the Windies, though... They've finally grown into men.

- I've only ever been to one international... Our metalwork teacher lol arranged a day out in the mid-80s to see an Eng v Pak ODI (at Edgbaston, IIRC). Eng won a thrilling match.
- Went to quite a few Essex matches (mostly the old 40ovs Sunday League) with my Dad (RIP) through the 80s. That was when Essex had an awesome team.
- Also saw 1985 Essex v Notts NatWest final (60ovs)... One of the most incredible finishes to a match...

I'd like to see a spirited response from ENG today as they clearly took the windies too lightly in the second test after the easy first test and never recovered their composure.
I still have major concerns with No's 2 and 3, no one is stepping up to make it their own, someone needs to with the Ashes around the corner....

The bloke obviously has an amazing eye.. but he just simply does not seem to care! He could have had 200 today. He just waddles down the wicket. I know he's injured but....
