Day night v Windies

West Indies keeper must have had a boring day.lol

Nice one Joe and Cookie

Suspect this will be a really one sided affair.

- Men vs boys, it would seem. Sad, the decline of the Windies.

- What do you think to the so-called 'spectacle'?

I find it actually harder to track the pink ball.... Even WITH a new (almost luminous) ball under the lights! It's too light - not 'contrasty' enough -
against the green grass. :(

lozgti1 18 August 2017 06:14 AM

I agree ! They must have put a lot of thought into the colour but it is harder to see IMO?!

joz8968 18 August 2017 08:34 AM

I think the pink pigment is dictated by practicalites/desired characteristics (Sky did a piece on it before play, interviewing the proprietor of Duke).

Otherwise, it'd be FAR better to have a genuine luminous ball...that would properly light up!

Shame, really. :(

lozgti1 19 August 2017 10:15 PM

Damp squib :(

joz8968 19 August 2017 11:38 PM

It's not good for test cricket.

The lack of competitiveness from Windies, I mean. The gulf in ability is embarrassing, to be honest.

Funkii Munkii 22 August 2017 01:06 PM

Payback for the Blackwash of 84 ;).

They are pony nowadays, not the best prep for the Ashes

Tidgy 22 August 2017 01:12 PM

Windies are a shadow of their former self at the min, given the number of young players they have coming through there's potential for them to become a pretty good team in the next few years though.

joz8968 23 August 2017 03:34 PM

"Edged and gooone!"

Gotta love Mikey.

Funkii Munkii 25 August 2017 12:10 PM

Westley is struggling big time against a second rate bowling attack.

No chance of making the Ashes tour party.

Probably the worst No 2 and No 3 ENG have had in years, they really need to fill these holes in time for Oz

lozgti1 27 August 2017 04:55 PM

Off to Headingly tomorrow. Spur of the moment.....

15 quid :D puts 90 mins of football to shame.lol

- Pivotal, potential enthralling day for you, in store...

Can England get a decent lead to bowl at. Ideally, around 230 - or 200 at the very bare minimum, I would think. So will need to bat really well to get to IRO 370-400+...!!

# Roooooooooot #

- Fair play to the Windies, though... They've finally grown into men. :D

lozgti1 27 August 2017 09:46 PM

:DReally looking forward to it

Dead chuffed get to see Root bat and hope the other boys do their thing

Yep,pivotal. Really glad West Indies giving us a game:thumb: . And I've never been to Headingly

joz8968 28 August 2017 09:53 AM

- I've only ever been to one international... Our metalwork teacher lol arranged a day out in the mid-80s to see an Eng v Pak ODI (at Edgbaston, IIRC). Eng won a thrilling match.

- Went to quite a few Essex matches (mostly the old 40ovs Sunday League) with my Dad (RIP) through the 80s. That was when Essex had an awesome team.

- Also saw 1985 Essex v Notts NatWest final (60ovs)... One of the most incredible finishes to a match...

Do you intend to get 'well oiled'?

;) :lol1:

joz8968 29 August 2017 10:39 AM

Wow, I bet you couldn't believe how well the day turned out for Eng. You must've been loving it. :thumb:

joz8968 29 August 2017 06:52 PM

Well. As Ricky Gervais would say:

# I never expected that.
I never expected thaaaaat! #

lozgti1 29 August 2017 07:41 PM

I had a cracking day thanks:thumb:

The nuns a few rows in front were well oiled.lol

Set up nicely for the next one. And yup, wasn't expecting that today:eek:

joz8968 29 August 2017 07:50 PM

As much as I don't want the Windies to get as good as they were in the 80s lol, I'm glad that they competed... And what a win!

Cricket needs a strong Windies in tests... Here's hoping they can keep up the raised level.

lozgti1 06 September 2017 10:19 PM

Here we go again! Hope the weather holds.

See Woaks has been replaced by TRJ. We will see !

Blimey, only got two league matches left myself :(

Funkii Munkii 07 September 2017 11:06 AM

I'd like to see a spirited response from ENG today as they clearly took the windies too lightly in the second test after the easy first test and never recovered their composure.

I still have major concerns with No's 2 and 3, no one is stepping up to make it their own, someone needs to with the Ashes around the corner....

Funkii Munkii 07 September 2017 04:50 PM

123 All Out, that's more like it.

Good work by Stokes with a 6 fer

Funkii Munkii 07 September 2017 06:13 PM

80 minutes later I'm wondering if this test will see Day 3 Lunch !!

ENG 2 and 3 setting the place alight again

That said 1 and 4 haven't done owt either

lozgti1 07 September 2017 09:51 PM

Hmmm. Root gone too. Bugger

lozgti1 15 September 2017 10:23 PM

T20 tomorrow. And Gayles playing . Should be good!

joz8968 24 September 2017 09:18 PM

"Chris you're sh!t!!" :lol1: :lol1:

Anyone else pick that up on the mic (after Gayle dropped that dolly in the 3rd ODI)?

lozgti1 24 September 2017 10:21 PM

The bloke obviously has an amazing eye.. but he just simply does not seem to care! He could have had 200 today. He just waddles down the wicket. I know he's injured but....

Funkii Munkii 28 September 2017 10:02 AM

No time for the guy, he's everything that's wrong with Cricket these days, just a T20 whore.

Will never go down as a great imo
