To be fair any other manager with the current record would have gone before now.

Good riddance. might go some way to dispelling the myth that is Josie-Maureen the Ho.

Ego bigger than the club, his style of management have gone a long way towards dragging football down...just like Fergie did.

Bye bye, Josie, you scum. Don't come back to the UK any time soon.

why do you think fergie dragged football down out of interest?

was it the mind games / berating the ref etc

at least he "did the do" for over 20 odd years and left at the top

I'll never understand critics of Fergie, that reign and what he did for United as a business globally will never be repeated by any man or any club.

yes, he wasn't perfect by any means

but what club would not have wanted Fergie

he sort of backs up my theory of life actually - in any field (technology / sport / business etc)

you get very very few world class performers, who "do it" over period of a lifetime

you may not agree with them all the time etc - but they make everyone else

even the "successful for a bit" dudes - look like they just got lucky for a few years

Fully deserved, acts like a juvenile, blames everyone else except himself and he wouldn't stand a chance of managing some of the more mediocre teams in the Premiership.

He has shown what he's made of.......... very little!

Childish tantrums, got away with stuff other managers couldn't, (refused to speak to the Beeb for ages), mind games, having a go at refs, Having a go at other managers, always supporting his players through poor discipline, sly tactics tantamount to cheating...all that's wrong with football.

Did he win stuff? Well...yes...but so can any team with the most money...and they had that for YEARS. Look at the Prem now: who wins it? Moneybags teams.

What about Cloughie? His team came from nowhere, swept all before it, won the European Cup two years running when it was worth winning, (only REAL champions in it then), all with little money and certainly not more than most clubs.

Yet what did HE ever get?

yes, it is hard to disagree

I suppose he was a function of his environment - more money, bigger stakes

but he is not alone in his antics, plenty of other managers do that stuff

and agree re Cloughie - but Fergie did the business at Aberdeen in a similar fashion

Spend? -- mmm I don't know

it would be interesting to see what club spent most money in the Fergie era

but on balance his performance speak for itself - (to me anyway, and I am not a united supporter)

you can't argue with facts, his achievements won't be broken in my lifetime

I wonder whether the lawyers drawing up managerial contracts for the top top teams will include clauses regarding league position

I bet they didn't in the case of Jose

I don't think it's about money for a bloke like jose anymore, he's got more than he could spend from his last stint there, so whatever his pay off I doubt he'll care much, that said though I wouldn't mind being given what he's going to get, probably in the region of 5mil for failing is not a bad pay day.

well I would expect it is more than that

he had just signed a 4 year deal (prob at 4 odd million a year)

so they will have to honour that contract I would have thought

but hey who knows - I am sure it is all set against confidentiality clauses

According to my man at Cobham there was a mass brawl in training, he was sacked, returned to the training pitch in tears said his goodbyes and refused a pay off.

The players need to take a long hard look at themselves

that's interesting

and I think your right,

it was a big mistake of Jose to slag off the medical staff, imo

and I'm not quite sure what's gone on in the dressing room

but as you say the player's still should be earning there money

I have a very good friend who is a well known sports journo (doing a charity walk in SA with Beefy Botham)

I will be interested in his take

Are you a United fan?

Do you think most United fans would welcome Jose?

The problem pundits say is that very very few managers build from the youth

fergie was pretty good at that, and arsene too

Jose/Chelsea did not seem to be

And when you buy in "success / talent" I would argue you are always more likely to player power

Leading to the scenes we've seen at chelsea

You might be right with this. Get Jose for a few years and then let Giggs take over.

Fergie did nothing but good for Scottish and English football
dragging football down you're talking oot your ar$e
he'll go down in history as the greatest British manager that ever lived
his record is second to none

Jose doesn't even deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Fergie
JM never played a game of football in his life, the bubble had to burst at some time
Bobby Robson will be turning in his grave at the way JM has turned out

Oops - who signed the first million pound player then ???
Peter Taylor was the inspiration behind 'old big Ed'
Brian Clough invented the way managers talked to the media, 'attitude' was his middle name
you picked the wrong manager there to compare to Fergie

Loads of Fergie players came from the youth squad, and if players messed with Fergie they where out. To many players run the clubs now a days, managers need to be put back in control.
