how do you arrange a BIG event???

There was a MASSIVE VW GTi event at Wroughton Airfield nr Swindon a few weekends ago......1000's of VW's....(not that i'm interested in VW's!!!)..what would it take to organise a decent event in the Swindon area...there must be more than a few enthusiasts down here!!!!....I'm fairly new to impreza's and i'd love to here from anybody in my area with the same passion.
