That weekend would suit me ok, preferably the Saturday though ! Not sure how the wife might take it if I say I am off for the day on Fathers day and she can be with the kids on her own ! Hmmmmmm, probably not a good idea, but if you guys can do Saturday - count me in.

Who knows Dartmoor well enough to plan a decent route?
Andy,
reckon should wait till get a few more positive responses then post thread.
Due to the meet being in the summer an early morning start would probably be best to avoid the worst traffic.

Sorry to put a downer on potential Dartmoor trip, but a friend and I had a Porsche Boxster on loan last weekend (he is interested in buying one ! - hey don't ask me why ! it is amazing what men do for their wives) only to find out whilst testing how well the baby went up through the gears that apparently all of Dartmoor national park has a 40mph speed limit !! Slowing down from a respectable 85mph when blue flashing lights appeared - seemingly from no where !! - only to be confronted with a great copper with a good sense of humour - how fortunate ! - he told us of said speed limit and to drive off with due care and attention else he would totally ruin our early Sunday morning jaunt ! (6.30am ish)
We have been forewarned !, so if anybody has any other trip ideas ?, or do we say - sod it ? lets drive at 40mph :-) and plead ignorance

I would have to agree. There is a blanket 40mph across Dartmoor and the police do patrol it quite heavily especially at this time of year. There are places that you can go, it just depends how far out into the wilds you want to travel.
Well up for a meet if we can get one sorted though!

Hmmm speedlimits in dartmoor bit of a downer. Could always be unoriginal and do Exmoor. Would you guys from South Devon make the journey if we did this?
There as some quite nice roads between North and South could meet halfway along the M5 and travel up. How about the Little Chef services at Junction 27 M5 Tiverton Turnoff at 8.30am on the 23rd June? Run from there up to the coast for lunch and then back?
