Santa Pod Raceway This Sunday 14/04/02 rwyb day
#1
Is anybody up for coming upto santa pod this sunday. Im a pod 'virgin' so dont really know what to expect but it should be a good day as long as the heavens dont open up. On their site it says that you pay £9 entrants fee and another £13 signing fee and this entitles you to limitless runs up the drag strip. I will be aiming to get there for 11am ish
So Any Takers
regards
Mike

I was there, standard DBM MY00. Only did a couple of runs - one as a bit of a reccy then a 14.5 which felt like I took off OK. Didn't try any more though (also arrived with a full tank D'Oh!) Not sure what I was expecting but saw some decent cars get worse times eg TVR in the 15's!
Saw one of the P1's get 14.01 for 1/4 mile before I left - did you get much quicker??

Ha that was my mate!
He was racing a saff cossie (also a mate) both didn't quite get under 14 which was surprising.
I got a 13.1 and a 12.9 terminal speed was approx 101 -103 from memory.
I don't remember seeing you there though.
There was a very quick evo 4 there doing 12.1's!
You going up again soon? - it's a great time, with a huge adrenaline rush!

I'll probably do it again but I'm trying to avoid abusing the car too much as it runs very well at the moment and the MY00 is prone to clutch problems. I went with a m8 who runs a modded Supra and I though I'd do a couple of runs whilst I was there.
Some of those Evos were mental taking off like rockets with all 4 wheels spinning
It was quite an experience running against a drag car - my rear view mirror nearly shook off from its engine noise.

it's a great day out - can wholly recommend it!. You have to put all those clutch thoughts to the back of your mind for a little bit though!
boost 11 - I know what you mean! - it's kind of addictive. i was also very surprised at what cars were doing time wise!. There was only 2 or three "real" cars that were doing 12's & 13's!.
The tvr drivers must have been unhappy getting toasted by evo's. there was also a lot of 200 sx's that wern't all that quick!
Apparently the good one to go to is the ultimate street car event - all weekend! - my car should be running a lot more power by then! - now i've got some comparison times!
