Hants pub meet
#1
Hi all!
Got a couple of new people who've said they'll come along to the pub meet on Monday, but I can't give them detailed directions as I don't really know the area. Any kind people out there willing to jot down some reasonably detailed directions to the pub from the M27 that I can pass on to them?
Chris

Just incase you're thinking..."how did they get to the pub for the last two meets?"
Pure LUCK! Chris' directions are awful...
Jen
(Oh, and one of the couples that's ment to be coming -as long as they still can- will be bringing a UK Sti7 prodrived version )

-----------------------
Leave M27 at Junction 7 (Hedge End)
Take first left at the roundabout
Take first left at the next roundabout
Over 2 roundabouts past PC World to the left / Mc D's to the right
First left at the roundabout signed West End / Cricket
Straight on into West End through the lights
Keep going, pub is on the left
Keep to the 30 in West End, the Police are usually around.

Hi guys + girls,
When does this meet take place? I'm over near Pompey and I'm sure I could force myself across to Scu... I mean Southampton to meet some of the other Scoobs (and their owners!) in the area.
Hopefully it's next Monday, not tonight!
Cheers, J

Ok - note to self - we must put something on Scoobynet a week before each meet ....
I don't mind doing it if no-one minds - after all, you guys reckon I just spend all day playing on Scoobynet anyway
...just hope I don't get a new job!
Hope to see you next time Jamie

D'oh!
Nevermind I was 'working' anyway! Jen, I know what you mean - one night at work I spent 7 hours on Scoobynet (I hope my employer does not frequent these boards)!
Was it any good - do many people turn up?
Cheers,
Jamie

Jamie!
...I don't have the internet at home! not good. And I was at a course yesterday to learn how to lift boxes so I missed Scoobynet.. Back today though
The meets are always good
We didn't have as many as before last night (poss. due to no-one mentioning it on Scoobynet?! ) but we still had about 15 people, including Barry and Lyn's P1 :
I love it! We have had well over 20 before, and everyone's friendly so it makes for a really nice atmosphere. We all just meet and chat about the cars, what people have done and are planning on doing! And catch up on any Scooby news, hear about other events in the area and the exciting things Paul (BadBads - the organiser blokie ) has planned for us
Should be good in the lighter evenings when we can spend a bit more time looking at the cars outside, it's a bit dark still at the moment Oh - and you get to see Colins car - it's purple! (and has pink sidelights ) I love that car too
I'll try and remember to put something up nearer next time to remind everyone - there's some more from Dorset way that sad they were interested, might just remind them...
Look forward to meeting you - what kind of Scoob have you got then? I can look out for you if I'm around Portsmouth way...(I know what you mean about S'ton!) This is mine and Chris' at the Big One at the w/end:
Sorry for the long reply, just got to look at boring traffic Count figs otherwise!

Hi Jen,
P1 - Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
15 people sounds like a good turnout to me!
Nice car - I especially like the pair of Scoobies on the dash
I want one of them but so far I've only got the socks :
I've got a UK Scoob, like yours.......
......just a lot dirtier
I got a digital camera at the weekend so took a quick snap of it, but I really must wash it soon - maybe in time for the next Hants pub meet
I actually live on Hayling Island and occasionaly see a P1 around but I've got no idea who owns it!
The 'Big One' sounded like a quality day out, I'm particularly annoyed as I was in Northampton on Sunday morning and it's sounds like it wasn't too far from there. I'll have to keep a closer eye on Scoobynet in future
Cheers,
Jamie
P.S. Be careful lifting those boxes - you wont be able to drive your Scoob with a bad back

Lol - excellent Socks Jamie! I'll have to take a pic of Chris' scooby socks (I nick them anyway)...we could make a thread of it..
Car looks good, we were looking at getting a green one, but the deal on ours was too good to turn down...what's the spoiler? Don't think I've seen one like that before...
Jen
P.S Simon - cars nice and clean!

Lol - I've worn those socks so much they are full of holes They were the nearest thing I had to a Scooby for ages
re: the spoiler, I'm not sure what it is - it came on the car! It's similar to the high level one on the later Scoobs (99/00) but is a bit higher and squarer I think. I quite like it so it's staying for a while, until I get a WRC one
Hopefully, if I make the next meet, you can have a closer look
Where did you get your Scoobydoo beanies from? The company that make beanie babies, Ty, now sponsor Pompey!
Cheers, Jamie

Ah, there is a Warner Village Cinema in Gunwharf Quays, maybe they sell them there? The new Scoobydoo film comes out soon so they should be easier to get hold of when that is released
Hope to make the next meet - I've just spotted that there is one in Pompey a week on Sunday so I think I'll pop up to that as well
Cheers, Jamie

Guys & Girls
Simon thanks for bringing that old copy of EVO along.
Jen, how much did you pay Salsa for those window stickers, quite tempted myself.
Barry & Lyn, them stickers make the P1 look even better!
All the best

Jen.
You can post the meet in future, one less thing for me to worry about!
I may email you about setting up a Hant's meet news letter.Nothing too elaborate just event's and thing's of interest for the local clan.I am asking you as I am cr@p on the PC and you obviously have nothing better to do!
Nice to see another skate, sorry Pompey, lad interested in coming.
Beanie babies and Pompey,I am sure there is a gag there somewhere.
Cheers Paul.

Paul,
Although my Scooby is certainly 'full of beans', I can't say the same about Pompey at the moment I'm afraid
But this is the start of a 'new era' at Fratton Park (third one this month actually)!
Lol,
Jamie

(Jen using Chris' computer...yeah, yeah, I'll learn my password one day )
Paul you cheeky b@stard! I'm appliying for new jobs at the moment, so you never know, I might actually have some work to do soon! ...not that that means I don't want to help as I'm willing, 'specially with all the new events coming up soon. We'll just keep this thread goin' for the meets then.
Simon - that's a really good idea, maybe we should all talk about it sometime...I'll leave you and Paul to decide when
Jamie - guess that's true about the Scoobies - if you want one and can't get hold of one, my family lives near Bluewater and a large WB store, so my Mum can always get one for you. Lookin' forward to meeting you
Alan - (blimey! Long message this... ) Salsa did the name stickers (any flag) for £9 a pair, i.e. the two "Jen" ones were £9. But he'll change them to anything you want! If you want them on both sides have the flag on the left of one name and the right of the other so they look the same on the windows, we made the mistake of not doing this so they look different (I hope that makes sense) If it was the other one's you were talking about, the big Scoobynet one was £4 and the smilies are £1 each! Not sure if it'll be cheaper to get the place that did Barry and Lyns stickers though? Might be worth checkin' out.
Cool

Simon, like the idea about the Hants website.we will have to arrange to meet to discuss it.
Jen,not implying you do bugger all during the day but you do work for the council!
Barry,I thought the pompey meet was on the 28th April, unless you just fancy a day out this Sunday.
Cheers Paul.

I’m happy to get involved with a newsletter if required. With Simons web space, I guess we could either set up a mini-site or upload a PDF file which people can then print off as it gets up-dated – just my thoughts.
Electronic will always be the most cost effective and get the most coverage - if we have a locked link or something from scoobynet/sidc.
Print is fine, and I have all the contacts - but will always cost something....... although printing black & white lasers here in the studio is a possability.

Folks, I'm building my own webserver as I type this, so will have shedloads of space and the ability to play with uploading pics etc, etc... may put UBB on there... Access won't be dead fast as it'll be on ADSL from my son's nursery.
Things I do for work eh?
Simon.
