Default MOT failure, help needed!!!!

Me scooby failed its mot today on emissions. Also found a hole near the centre cat (car has two cats, one centre and one on downpipe).

Garage reckon the centre cat needs replacing, but my mate says it could be the lamba sensor?

Any ideas on how i could find out which it is or what might be prone to go.
2 coil packs did fail recently which i gave now sorted. I wasn't using the car when this happened, only noticed after i changed the rocker gasket.

Car has already been off the raod for 5 weeks.

Scotty.

Is the hole from corrision, or a missing lambda sensor as there should be one in the last cat pipe?

You'll find that there is 3 cats, centre, downpipe and uppipe. You can remove the up-pipe and one of the other 2 and still pass the MOT so I would doubt it is a cat.

I have a 1995 wrx import, and it only has 2 cats. Lamba sensor is after the cat on the down pipe.
The hole was caused by corrosion.

If theres a hole it can affect emissions. It should fail anyway as it will be blowing

Emissions are supposed to be around 0.3, but mine was showing nearly 3.0, thats why they said it was probably the centre cat.

Does his include the cat in this? As my centre section is all in one with the cat.

That would be great. It might be asking abit much, but if you could post me a pic, then i could definately say whether it would fit or not.

How much are you wanting for this? Depending on whether it fits or not. Might be able to pick up tomorrow evening. What time is good for you?
