Saying Hello
Just got back in from Tesco in Amersham and found a 'business card' poked in my door from the middlesex bunch - so thought I would say HELLO
And while I am here thought I would ask a question.
I 'may' need my brake pads replacing at my 30k service, I currently have AP Racing 6 pots on the front and wondered if anyone could recommend some pads. I dont use it for tracks etc just everyday road use. Any help on a) what I should get and b) where from would be very helpful. Thanks

That was me
Lovely Forester. Is it you that I've seen around the Chorleywood area, Dog kennel lane/Berry lane?
I've just fitted Ferodo DS2500 pads on mine (brembo calipers) and so far, apart from the dust, they seem v. good.
They're available from most of the big Subaru tuning suppliers but I got mine from
Area 52 Autosport On-line shop

No, I am more Amersham/High Wycombe way, havent been out to Chorleywood for a while now. So what car do you have (so I can look out for you and WAVE)
Thanks for the link, is it worth getting the pads and then getting the local Subaru garage to fit them (if they are needed) or go to a 'specialist' shop?

Dead easy fit, so not sure I'd want to pay main dealer labour.
Get your hands dirty and you'll have them done in an hour
I drive a white 04 spec C but you wont see it in Tesco's car park

I wouldnt have any ideas how to change brake pads, I can fill it up with petrol, check the tire pressure and ummmm drive it but maybe I will see whether it needs the pads doing and if so hold off and find some poor unspecting person (like my brother) and he can do them - yeah sounds like a plan to me

Looks great Jen, welcome to MSOC! Glad to hear it's got some knocks and scrapes too, cars are for driving
I've seen a couple of these around locally recently (one on Rickmansworth High Street, an older one in Amersham, and there used to be a lovely one just off the top of the A41 on the way to DSA).
This might be my next choice if I can find a black or white one...!

I am away in July when the Uxbridge show is so sorry will have to skip that sorry. Do you only do the show once a year? Also the 24th May for your next meet is a no go either. Why are all my alloys bubbling up and going black, (mostly around the wheel nuts) but its spreading. My brother has the same car as me but in black and whilst not as bad they are going the same way. Got a few chunks taken out of them also when I have miscalculated a car park so really need to get them spruced up so any one know a place worth trying? Also I need to get some scratches taken off it so maybe someone can recommend a good polish make as well.

Little Knocks are very good I hear - Little Knocks Vehicle Smart Repair Centre
Have a go with Meguiar's Scratch-X (Halfords) first, then a decent wax and polish over the top will do wonders.
(I'm sure some of the clean freaks will be over soon to recommend expensive polishes but these work for me!)
