Welcome along mate, and the first of the new shape to come along
Car looks good, I was impressed by the STI when I was in one at the McRae gathering. I'm guessing yours has been lowered too

im kinda in a dilemma about that......i do need the updated reflash and being that i have a US model they wont flash my car......and im pretty sure that the US and UK motors are identical.....so if anyone can help me out i'd owe you a bunch.....

Give him a call m8 about the reflash or map, it's weird why they can't do it for your car....

If it's running a US map isn't it set for lower grade fuel anyway, so it'll be no different to running a UK WRX, set to run 95 ron unleaded on 99 ron v-power? If that's the case you shouldn't damage it and instead will some improvements. Clearly a remap will get the best of the better fuel, and JGM can probably give you even more

If you want to do any engine mods I would consider:
-3" Exhasut system with sports cat or keep current exhaust system & try & replace cat/cats with sports ones
-3 Port boost solenoid for better mapping
-K&N panel filter or intake
& then remap to give a more fuel efficent/more powerful & torquier car
ps as John says if its a US model then its mapped for 95 Ron fuel then theoretically there shouldnt be a problem of running lean at any revs. But I would only put 99RON fuel in to help this.
Also if you really wanted to increase power even more with a more aggresive map, then it would be better to uprate the pistons.

i plan on gettin filter and exhaust and maybe the boost controller.....lol, aint ready to rebuild a new motor yet.....
but like JonMc said US spec cars are based map off of 91 octane......which is off of Cali standards.....but if i get the accessport i'd be able to buy maps tuned for 93 octane and fine tune from there.....hopefully i get everything sorted by this summer......

Ideally you want to run at least a 95 ron map as that is the lowest grade fuel you can get across here. Tesco 99 and V-power both run at 99 octane so if you get a remap with that you'll see some nice power increases. I'm sure there'll be an accessport map for those grades
