Cross-threaded something Off to Hughberry in the morning as I don't have a big enough tap (or the patience after the day I've had)

And the paint on my new rear arms has gone wrong

Friday afternoon won't be a problem, but I'm off to Rugby Friday morning to pick up my new seats, but yes I have a thingie (feeler gauge) do you want a metric or an imperial thingie. And I also have a special spark plug thingie (spark plug socket - 14mm and 16mm iirc but I'm not sure which one you'll need)

Cheers Jim, but they are really awkward ones and doing them whilst on my back will probably end up in tears. Paul in Hughberry said he'll get the car on the ramps tomorrow and clean up the threads.

Are you not going to come to Ricky's on Friday, the more people stood around umming and arring the better, bring your camera

I don't know what Ricky's plans are, but if we all turn up as the light is fading and say something like 'access is a lot easier if you remove the washer bottle and airbox' and then run like hell without spilling our beer

I didnt realize they were a pain in the *** to get to John do you reckon we can do it without too much effort, if not I can quickly nip down to my indy mechanic in wembley tmrw?

ps also I think I have sorted some proper hydraulic ramps we can use right next to our houses John. The car wash next to Alpine Restaurant used to be a Ferrari/Classic car Indy garage & the current car wash occupants said they dont mind me using their ramps when theyr not busy, for a very small fee I imagine

Whip out the washer bottle and airbox and access is quite easy then. You might have to come around to mine though as I'm on kids duty, and I'll need to pick her indoors up from work about 2ish. I can call you when I get back from Rugby if that works

It's not a long job, like I say, just need to sort the access to the plugs. If I give you a bell when after I pick Tina up, we should have plenty of time. The drive next to my house is not being used so I'll relegate Tina's car to the road

15min job, just remove the Airfilter box and screen washer bottle, you will need the correct spark plug socket though and a 3/8 drive rachet...Make sure you dont over tighten the plugs and screw the new plugs in by hand 1st, I have always used the NGK factory preset gap in all of my cars.

Would love to but Mrs Mc is away Friday night and won't back until whenever she is fit to drive on Saturday. The kids wouldn't forgive me if they had to spend another day in a garage on their Easter Hols

Plugs done, that car pulls like a train now Ricky. I'd be happy with that without the BHP figure you so hanker after.

Now to sort my wifes Scenic out after it seems to have thrown the cambelt

It was only done 10 months ago so I'm hoping I can claim for it under warranty, failed tensioner or something. The cams are still turning, albeit a bit to freely, bit it's just not firing and seems that the timing is out. Suspect it's jumped a tooth
