I hate traffic police!!!
Ok so I was at the end of my road waiting to turn right on the main road when I spotted a traffic police car driving past, I tried not to make eye contact but it was too late...
They turned around to pull me over about my number plate being too small and not adequately spaced. So after a good half hour lecture, checks on my car etc...they gave me a £30 fine. They also filmed the whole thing!
Considering its not a huge offence and I was co-operative I would have thought they would have let me off (as nice cops usually do) lol
I know it was my fault but their rudeness was definately uncalled for!
Now I have the legal standard plates back on the car...does not look good!!!
If only I had waited 3 more seconds before pulling out the driveway...
So beware guys and gals...

had the same thing happen to me on my old scoob .
sunday lunchtime minding my own b and then woo woo woo .
he actually measured my letters and then fined me 30 quid . rude as a ******* to . obviously have not had many crimes solve so they go out looking for people to pull. have the same plates on my car now and have never been pulled (touch wood) and i see traffic cars daily , i even stopped and had a chat with a traffic cop the other day when they blocked the end of my road off due to an accident . he didnt bat an eye lid . so its luck of the draw really
sorry to hear bout it though . they were just bored imo , stick the other plates on **** em

I was done 3 times last year with £30 fines each time, then eventually got a final notice from DVLA stating that my plate would be confiscated if I continued to display the smaller front plate, ive stuck to standard plates since, just not worth the hassle...

Hmm I was thinking that but its the second time its happened to me and he even said next time if I was caught with the small plate on I'd get 3 points!!! Not sure if they can give you points for such a minor offence, I have a reliable source in the police so I will ask if its true or not. I'd rather have the big plate then risk getting 3 points!
I agree they must have been bored! Its their cockyness that really gets me because at the end of the shift they go home to lead normals lives like anyone of us, no need to abuse their power by saying irrelevant harsh things.
I cant believe he measured your letters! What a sado!

Here's an idea, don't break the law by adding illegal plates to your car and you won't have the indignity of a dressing down by the police. Obviously you've not heeded previous advice when being stopped before and 'let off'.

They can penalise with points but it really depends on the officer, another option is to keep a standard uk plate in the car and stick it in the screen if a traffic copper is on your tail

If you really must have a small plate, buy a 5 digit one with a '1' as the number to get it as small as possible within a reasonable price and get it made up with correct sizing and spacing. Even with legitimate borders it will be really small, but perfectly legal. Everybody knows the Plod are keen on small plates these days as every crime on Earth can be detected, investigated and sentenced on the basis of ANPR
Just quickly worked out that a 5 digit plate *1*** would be about 280mm wide and 101mm tall and be perfectly legal.

The cops gave me a print out of it too
If I could have a small plate with correct size lettering and spacing then I'm all for it

the fine isnt the problem, tis there cocky attitude where they think they are better then everybody else which leads to them being right c*ks.
i dont understand why they are ***** when somebody is being co-operative, i can understand if they were getting grief from someone then there behaviour would change.
barstewards!!
ps: i dont think alot of people like them either, where the hell are they when they need to report car accidents but when someone has a small plate on its the bloody crime of the century!
rant over

A bell end is what other motorists with legal plates thought when they saw someone with illegal plates being pulled over.
Can't stand moaning and whinging about police when you know/should know you've done wrong. If you knowingly choose to break the law don't go whining when you get caught.
