I'm sorry i know you guys love your car's and your all gonna hate me now but spec c are nothing really! IMO

Now i can understand a 22b but spec c are 10 and penny really! And how is 20k cheap in these time's? Nothing is going up in price right now..... NOTHING

20k for a car with less in it??? UMM bargain?

Anyone who wants a spec c... (IMO) Get a normal Subaru and then take everything out of it, a set of apex and you got yourself a spec c, oh don't forget to plum a 4 liter bottle of water to the intercooler water spray

Rant over

You wouldn't say that about a Porsche GT3 RS or a Ferrari
Scuderia, These cars are the best they can be the principle being the same for the Spec C, Its the best a scooby can be out of the box (except for the RA and RA R which are based on Spec C's)

Compared to a 400bhp scooby? I'm sure they can't be that bad?

Ask pete if he has ever seen 200 miles to a tank of petrol? How much tires he goes through or oil for that matter? I bet it will be if not the same as the RS more?

Guv i'm not trying to start a fight mate but if i had the money i would never buy one of them! Id get a porsche turbo or a normal 430 really mate no messing?

As Mr Clarson says... How can you pay more for a car with less in? I'm sure if you paid less and saved it for mod's you would get a better car in the long run no? But i'm sure you will not agree with me

Read the full spec sheet on a Spec C its got far more done to it than just making it lightweight. To make an Impreza or most cars get 0 to 60 mph in sub 4 seconds (a spec c with exhaust & remap to 365bhp) & get round the Nirburgring 8 mins, all for approx £15k is awesome. and all that without blowing up or springing a leak here or a pipe here or a turbo there! Read the full specification on a JDM Impreza Spec C, especially engine.

A Porsche Turbo & F430 is a lot more money, a lot. And a well sorted Spec C would still probably p$ss on them on everything but the long straights!

Sorry your going to be slated rotten for that
Your understanding of a Spec C is very limited, its not about taking bits out of the normal car, that doesnt make a spec c because the C has quite a few "additions" over the normal car, like the totally different front subframe, engine oil cooler (an STI radiator one at the front of the car) transmission coolers, more aggressive engine (larger ported heads etc) and it took audi to build a 50+k car to beat a 18k car around the track (both being 4 door saloons )
This is THE best out of the box car that subaru make, that includes all the classics (considering this car is 2 secs quicker to 100 than the fastest classic, and its heavier!) its just a very focused car

Thanks to Robocop, quoted from his old post:

Here's some of the differences the MY06 JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) STi has over the UK version.

• Twin scroll turbo
• Nitride coated, cross drilled crank
• 13:1 STi quick rack
• Slightly larger intercooler design
• Auto and manual intercooler spray (UK get manual activation only)
• More aggressive inlet cams
• Equal length headers
• Electric folding wing mirrors
• 235 width tyres (UK get 225)
• 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th same as UK, 5th and 6th are shorter
• Front STi titanium strut brace
• 8,000rpm redline

Spec C

The MY06 Spec C is 90Kg lighter than the standard STi due to the following changes:

• Rear wash wipe **deleted**
• Privacy glass **deleted**
• Deadlocks **deleted**
• Boot trim and carpet **deleted**
• Passenger sun visor **deleted**
• Grab handles **deleted**
• Ski hatch **deleted**
• Glove box light **deleted**
• Isofix child seat fixing point **deleted**
• Underseal **deleted**
• Sound deadening **deleted**
• Map lights **deleted**
• Speakers in rear doors **deleted**
• Centre diagonal inertia seatbelt **deleted**
• Side airbags **deleted**
• HID headlights **deleted**

However, the Spec C has the following changes over and above even the JDM STi:

• Thinner lightweight glass
• Lightweight roof
• Aluminium boot lid
• 12 litre intercooler spray bottle mounted behind the rear seats
• Different radiator and water pump
• Engine & transmission oil coolers
• Roller bearing version of the twin scroll turbo
• Rear strut brace
• Performance revolving chamber fuel pump (anti surge)
• Black seats, door panels and carpet
• Stiffer chassis with revised welding
• Larger intake pipe
• Roof vent
• Smaller 50 litre fuel tank
• Smaller lightweight battery

And then add to that a few simple mods for approx £1k e.g full decat exhaust/air filter/3 port/remap to 1.6 bar max & your looking at approx 365 bhp & similar torque. That kind of power in an AWD drive car weighing 1400kg is a pretty awesome combo in such a focused package

for what you spent
that is better than what you've got?
