I feel a bit like Pete Waterman of Pop Idol today we have to announce who's in and who's out.
I feel extremely disappointed that we have had to reduce the list - however we went from a fairly small list to having two cars for each slot available!
The judging panel has selected the cars based on uniqueness of tuning combination and so 'duplicate' cars have been whittled down. As it is a shootout, there is also an emphasis as there always has been, on tuned cars. We have also taken out almost all of the reference cars and so we only have Scoobs running on the day.
We have twenty-eight slots available on the day to run and we have selected THIRTY-TWO cars to run on the basis that there are always drop-outs/final withdrawals (he said bravely).
The list is as below: -

Mike Evans
Phill C (Babber)

Andrew Cawte
Andy Hamilton

Andy Tang

Thank you to everyone who applied - I hope that you will come on the day to offer your support - you may get a chance to run if things go well and there are some dropouts.
If anybody on the list cannot make it then please let me know as soon as possible.
Finally the charge is likely to be around £30+VAT and we will have some small prizes and a hopefully some bacon butties or similar
Look forward to seeing you all on the day - unfortunately I am not one of the judging panel - merely an accolyte (look it up! )- so cannot enter into any correspondance regarding the final selection.
Cheers,
Trout

I'd also be interested to know why my name was removed from the list when I put it down before so many others?
Trout, how was this "selection process" carried out? On what basis did you select people? Also, as I said before, if people have been removed why has a completely new person been added... seems extremely unfair.

It's a shame I didn't get my chance to thrash the other Stage II cars
Maybe next time, if I still have the car then..
Cheers,
Alex
P.S. David - are detailed specs of the cars running going to be provided?

Can I just ask what the criteria was for choosing which reference cars run or not?
I am sorely dissapointed to see the big hitters such as Blow Dog (Cem) and Mike Rainbird removed.
I did think the reference section was OTT originally, but in its paring down you seemed to have removed the best references.
Is there anyway these two can be reinstated? I would even sacrifice my place to see what they run.

Please e-mail me regarding a reserve list for this event on Tim@rb5.net as I would like to run if a relevant space becomes free.
Thanks
Tim

Adam,
as we have already seen there have been a number of disappointed people that they didn't get to run. As this was a Subaru 'Shoot Out' then we would have had to make three or four more Subaru drivers disappointed.
At first it looked like there would be plenty of spaces - as it turned out this day is two times oversubscribed.
Again - good luck to those who are in - commiserations to those who are not - we will organise another event soonest.
Cheers,
Trout

I have reposted the list with a couple of updates.
I would also like to post a couple of comments - the 'judges' which are mainly about ensuring cars were in the right category and that a balance was maintained across car groups - are Jonathan who has kindly liaised with Power Engineering, and Jay who will be our scrutineer!
Also I have seen/heard a number of rumblings regarding this event.
I would like to reiterate what all the posts have said from day one
- this is not a 'normal' rolling road day, but a 'shoot-out' for modified Subarus
- the posts have always focused on an 'entry' for consideration with a closing date, not a first come, first served
- the emphasis has been on interesting or unique cars from a modification point of view
None of these things say that modified cars are 'better' or none-modified cars 'not good enough' which I have seen posted here. In fact at the last shootout I was at a large proportion of 'modified' cars fared worse than the standard reference cars!!!!!
So, I repeat my thanks to all of you who 'applied' and I especially appreciate Deep's comments which are very generous in the circumstances. I ask that all of you continue to support the day, and look forward to seeing everyone who is there.
Cheers,
Trout
PS If anyone who didn't make it onto the list but are keen to run, there is a spare place at the Tuning Japanese RR on November 10th.

Stage 1 = mild
Stage 2 = warm
Stage 3 = wild
Stage 4 = looney toons
IIRC 1 = zorst and filter, 2 = 1 + ecu, 3 = 2 + anything on stock engine internals and 4 are those who have pushed the boat out and built a new engine with stronger internals...
