Had a great time last night. Glad things were finally sorted out - after much debate over Iain's bathing habits
Thanks to Keith & Julia for the Scooby bits - gonna have to find some more treasures now
Matt - hope you're feeling a bit more "awake/with it" today

All,
Bryan and I have scouted out some pubs, around the east, so far we have:
-East Grinsted, Dorset arms, in the town ctr, I think it would make a good winter meet as apparently it big inside.
-A22/East Grinstead, The Roebuck Hotel, V.big car park, not sure about garden size.
-Chailey,The kings head.
-Scaynes hill, The farmers
, opposite Auto toy store(ussed to be a Subaru dealer)Shell petrol opposite.
-Haywards heath, The Dolphin
, V. big Car park and enclosed garden.
-Burgess hill, The woolpack
, V big pub and car park, garden enclosed.
-Burgess hill/Hassocks, Pilgrim goose
, pub, car park and enclosed garden all big.
-Shermanbury, The Bull, though the cr park is a bit rough.
-Cowfold, The coach house
, big gravel car park and enclosed garden and play area.
We have yet to see if they are too busy on Sundays yet, but all have a garden, large car park and do food.
Any locals comments on these pubs?
Dave,
Still to scout Ashington/ Billingshurst area.

Woolpack has an enclosed garden ?
news to me and i lived behind it for 2 years !
I know it has some grass and a sodding great pond, dont fancy fishin me nipper out of there.
(Have to say the food is not the best there, but havent been for a few years so may be good now).
pilgrims goose is quite good, foods good, garden has an open exit (unless they've put gate on in the last few months). Also gets VERY busy, would be better to arrive early or late if you want to eat.
Dolphin i've heard good things about. (and a heated patio when it gets colder).

Iain, Billingshurst area does suffer from small car parks, however;
Blacksmiths @Adversane, ok but will find cramped if busy.
Red Lion @Ashington is fine, Brewers Fayre, kiddies area etc. Steve the manager is ok about it as well, given notice could cone off section of C/Park.
Fountain @ Ashurst, good (best)drive, Garden & C/Park ok. Closed Fri pm so could'nt speak to any one.
**** Inn @ Southwater also a good garden, carpark average, worth a look.
Further afield though, the Royal Oak just south of Midhurst has everything. Wicked drive.
regards Dave

Thanks Dave. Will talk to you soon and will try to get out there for a recce.
Pete, the garden is fenced off from the car park so the 'ikle ones can't get near the road and the pond is fenced off too!
You live pretty close, go and have a look and let me know your thoughts, if you think we should find somewhere else we can do so.( I don't have and don't plan kids soon so haven't got the experience.
Cheers,
Iain.
Ps. 'm only around till Wednesday as I have a wedding to help dis'organise.
