Dear SN,

Why have I started this post so early? Because I have just been woken up, in our secret squirrel location in Kent, by the sound of torrential rain arghhhh

Off back to bed for a couple more hours...now where are my wellies?

Cheers to Markus for organising today's event at Bentley! You could have organised the weather a bit better!

A pretty good turnout - I think 48 Scoobies were counted at one point, plus a load of boring Porches (yawn!) and 7 Ferraris (we're not jealous, honest!).

I have got a few digital pics of the event, so I'll try to get some posted asap (once numberplates have been deleted, etc).

Roll on the next event!

After the chap on the gate had a serious sense of humour failure with me (being a non-serious person myself, thought he might see the funny side) after he told me that my Mk4 golf turbo was out of place because it was Ferrari and SIDC owners clubs only (I know about the parking Markus so no...we told you all so comments please, I am not in the mood)i light heartedly said It had a Porsche engine, he replied "you wish, please turn around"....So, myself and two guests (One a long term friend of mine who knows me very well and his girlfriend) drove back out, slightly miffed somewhat but agreeing that we understood. So we walk back in and he says, thats £5.00 per person please...and thats if you pretend to be SIDC members (I then pointed out I was in fact...) so I bit my tongue, paid the money and kept my trap shut.

So....we walk about for a bit, count one 10 year old BMW parked up with its stereo on show, a BMW 535i with Alpina wheels and then...to cap it off a Golf Cabriolet drives in..so I popped over to the Porsche owners club "volunteer" and pointed it out (I am only worried about the car being out in the main car park-Its a tidy looking golf too ) and his reply was, they are not staying so leave me alone! Ok, well I think never mind...no point arguing as we are "privildged to be here anyway" (another comment from a Porsche Owners club member) and bit my tongue again....

I am then queing to get a drink and my friends girlfriend drops some money on the floor outside the shop and laughs (she sounds like a wheel bearing in a MK2 escort when she laughs, i look out and see the comotion as her and my new girlfriend chase all these pound coins all over the place only to hear the person behind me in a classic well spoken Oxford English voice say "Oh, thats one of those common Subaru owners who have come to ruin our day with their dump valves and loud exhausts". Now, f**k the dump valve and exhaust comments but where on Gods earth were people brought up with an attitude like that. The common comment made my blood boil and my close friend (whos girlfriend was the person being laughed at and time) simply held his breath and said "Ronnie, please mate...I want to go home". So, I had to leave...Im sorry for not making the pub guys, my friend was so angry he wanted to leave. I was so embarrased....

Phone call last night, "Please come tommorow mate, these SIDC meets are great, the people are lovely" which thank christ you all are...but it appears that some of us that appeared to be less "well off" were not welcome in that part of the world.

I have calmed down now, but had this bloke not been so far up his own ****, I would of had the chance to plant one on his "im richer than you" nose.

As I left the digging had not finished, I heard a comment about my wheels and "are you going back to essex?".... This is when I did stop on the way out and spoke to this person, sadly he walked off briskly as now my temper was severly at its boiling point.

If the Porsche Club complain about me Pete, feel free to revoke my SIDC membership as frankly people in this day and age are not free to down tread and speak to people like a piece of s**t because they have a lesser car. I am so pissed off that I did not bring a Porsche or a Ferrari to the meet and sit with the SIDC.

I am sure the rest of you had a wondeful day, and sadly a few stuck up people ruined my day and made me feel quiet sick as I drove the 120 miles home

One day, I will make someone feel un-welcome and treat them like a lesser person, but one things for sure...It won't be in this lifetime.

What a **** end to what was going to be a lovely day.

Apologies will not be accepted from the people who Organised this outside of the SIDC but its safe to say I wont be back next year, I have looked in my diary and I am having a pineapple inserted up my ****!

Yours Sincerely, one really pissed off SIDC member who has no airs or graces.

One thing I forgot to say...

Sorry to the guys who followed by through the Lewes tunnel - we were stuck behind a slow-ar$ed Porsche driver, who refused to go above 40 on a nice straight bit of road

It wasn't me driving slowly - honest!

Also, sorry to hear about the grief you got Ronnie, especially after travelling such a distance. I think the general consensus from this meet was that we are now a big enough group to organise our own day down there (or somewhere similar) - and we won't invite any stuck-up Porsche owners! (Please don't take offence any 'normal' Porsche owners)

Daniel

PS I gotta get myself a bigger (=louder) exhuast... or even a bigger car... or... or... Oh dear, I'm hooked!

Red face

Ronnie, I wish you'd come and said something.. thats harsh.

To be frank, it probably was one of the porche lot that turned up late and got a back seat as it were. As I spoke to most of the porche lot that were in before us and they had total repect for various subarus and performance cars such as yours.

However the guy on the gate was an ****, again I wish you had said something. He smirked at BUGZILLA too

All in all it was a good day, mared by the few that couldnt afford a new porche and those that couldn't afford either an old porche or scoob (gate keeper).

Don't let 'em get to you mate, it ain't worth it.. The scoob owners were all tops, and the real porche owners where cool too.

I would like to thank Markus for organising it, cos despite the miserable-tos**rs minority, it was a good day.

Shame there isn't more social events like this organised.

Daniel, I think we still managed to have a pretty good blast through that tunnel windows down and some great sounds

Overall a great sociable day. Thanks to Markus for all his efforts. Nice to see so many scoobies there and to meet some old and new faces.

Ronnie, sorry to hear about your trouble. Not making excuses for their behaviour but I'm sure some of the porsche lot had their noses put out of joint when they turned up a couple of hours after the start to find they had to park behind our "common" scoobies. I think we all know that there are tw*ts that drive every type of car. Porsches are not excluded. Like I say, I'm not excusing their diabolical behaviour , and I'm not so sure I'd have been quite so restrained if I'd heard those comments.

Anyways, I took about 30 photos of the scoobies there but as I haven't quite reached the digital camera age yet it'll be a few days before I get the photos developed. Will try and post the best ones then.

Thanks once again to all involved.

Mark

Stupid cucking funts
Sorry to hear about it Ronnie. Some people just shouldn't be allowed to mix with normal society. I'm with you 100pct. Next year I'll be helping you core that pineapple .
Sorry I missed the pub too, was off feeding the ducks when y'all left. Shame really as I didn't think the day was that sociable really - probably 'cos we missed Ronnies crowd pleasing character.
Calvin and Emily had fun on the train though, and Calvin knocked a Porker kid on his **** at the adventure playground.
His dad only has a 944 though, so I guess the 911 guys probably laughed.

Ronnie,
Sorry about the parking, my fault, I should have stood round the gate and 'informed' the gate people who could come in. Pete can correct me if I'm wrong but SIDC membership does not actually require you to own a scooby, thus you're still SIDC, thus you could park with the scoobies. I am so sorry this was your first upset of the day.

As for the 'pound coin incident' I am sorry. Think I would have done the same as you, though having a very short temper the language would have been very free and foul flowing. As for you getting kicked out of SIDC, well, this was NOT an official SIDC event, just a group of subaru owners.

I will speak to Peter @ the porsche club about this and see what he was told about this.

This unfortunate incident just goes to reinforce the stereotype that most of us have for porsche owners, which is a pity as most of them were nice chaps.

I wish to apologise to you and the rest in your party for any upset caused.

OK my turn,i actually had quite a good day, ronnie we saw you waiting to leave the main bit all the cars were in and wondered what was going on,sorry you had such a bad time and think you were very restrained,i know i wouldnt have been,as mark says this was not an official sidc meet so you should have no worries there,i also beleive that we were big enough to have our own day without having having to be 'guests'of the porsche club that way we could have who we like there.
well done kim for the convoy and well done mark for making the day happen as no one wouldve been there had it not been for your call to the porsche club!
roll on the next meet

Well we had a good time - nice to meet everyone. We didn't stay that long 'cause the pub was calling . Ronnie - sorry to hear about your problems - that really sucks. I thought we were meant to be there as car enthusiasts and petrol heads, not to gauge our social standing . Quite happy to volunteer to drive one of your choice motors to the next Porsche Club meet

Cheers Chris & Sal

BTW: The tunnel was good

Excellent day, and a great turnout (and I didn't have to wear my wellies ). I even got to do a spot of babysitting, which took my mind off of the Ferrari's We should hopefully be posting our piccies tomorrow night.

Big shout to Markus for organising this - can't wait for the next big meet

Ronnie - we were behind you and also tried to tell the guy on the gate that you were with us, regardless of the car, but he wasn't having any of it. As for the other incidents - pants to them - at least we've got manners and know how to act/be sociable!

Ron,

Next time turn up in one of your work cars. The XJ220(if you've got it yet) would be perfect. Failing that the 360 Modena, would just about do.

I must admit i heard a bit of the above, but I.m not sure who it was , or what they were driving... exxcept for a look of distaste as I had a brief wander around the Porsches, smoking a ***, and then went back to see the scoobs. Bollocks to them. Obiously these few "privileged" have their heads so far up their ***** that they dont really understand what we are all about.

To my great satisfaction, as I was leaving with Mr Attoway, the green welly that I make reference to above was getting in his rather nasty looking Toyota. Made me feel better.

Thanks to everyone I met for making me fel so welcome to hopefully the first of many events.

Whilst in the cafe i had a middle aged geezer moaning to his wife about how sad it was for all these 'no life car freaks, getting excited over each others shiny parts'.

Had great fun reminding the chap that at least i wasn't the sad one that had come purely to look at some birds

he didn't say owt else.

OK, silly question time.

I've got some pictures from Bentley - now how do I get them onto Scoobynet? I have tried to copy/paste into the message, no joy. Do I need to upload the images to somewhere first?

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum (they are pictures of the Bentley meet...).

Thanks,

Daniel

Top day on Sunday - thanks Marcus for doing the biz...

Memorable moments - Parking my DBM MY00 next to a 22B , sitting outside the cafe drinking tea and watching all the scoobs arrive and exploring the badgers sett and getting stuck Maybe I need to get over to the muppet forum or lose some weight...

Sal, if you're lurking, sorry we didn't meet. I did look out for you but it was a little tricky as I've got no idea what you look like.
