TRAX 2000

OK guys, here it is!
Although the actual event doesn't take place at Silverstone until September, I thought I'd put the feelers out now to gauge general interest.
Myself and a FEW other Scoobies attended last years event, and were guests on a special invite stand as there was no official SIDC presence. Things are different this year.
For those of you that don't know about Trax, have a look at

Its not the full GP track though is it stef?
The RS owners national day held a couple of weeks before trax last year used the full GP track. The only club in the UK allowed to do that last year.
Plus the track was open as a normal track day, i did about 50 laps of the GP track, if you get the chance to do the GP track, even if it is on an RS day, do it, hanger is bloody fast.
cant remember the price, think it was about £180 for the whole day.

I'm up for that. I've been lucky in the past and have driven Silverstone twice. It was great. Let me know the dates and I'll be there for everything. Sounds like a good excuse for a day out!!

Can I infiltrate with the Cossie (I am an SIDC member afterall ) and would rather go out on the track with the Scoobies, than with the "scary" people who don't really know any track etiquette....?
Thanks
Mike

Nice one Stef, just remember a jumper for the track this year !!!!
I'll have some of that track time, me thinks.
Might need a bit of tuition if anyone is doing more than one session ? That is if I haven't done another one by then.
Darren.

The date is Sunday September 10th (sorry David! ).
As I've said, register your genuine interest here and once we have enough people the club will book the sessions.
There will be an announcement in the next 'True Grip' and some spaces will be reserved for non-internet users.
If these don't then go we can re-allocate them.
As John said, it is NOT the full GP circuit (I think it's the touring car one), but it is still a fantastic drive.
There will also be the 0-60 sprint again, which costs £5 and gives you a printout of your time.
The crowd here is very large, so bad starts are a no-no!
UK cars dominated this last year, as all the WRX's (that I saw) had to change into 3rd gear and couldn't manage under 6 secs!!!
Let's see if the imports can get their own back.
Believe me, if we can fill both arenas we will have one of the largest presences there, and that's what we deserve.
Let's get it on!
Stef.

Nice try!
Unfortunately, this time it WILL be just Scoobies.
We will be trying to promote the SIDC after all, and having a rampant Cossie on the loose simply won't help matters!
I'm sure you'll feel much more at home with the likes of 'Car Crusher'!!
I will be going on track in a non-Scooby session too though, you know, just for fun!
To all.
Just to let you know that passengers are not allowed with you on track at Silverstone unless you have a motorsport licence.
We will have a number a 'fast rides' available to us with the Silverstone Vectras which I'm sure are quite fast....well, sort of!

A club stand in the middle of RS territory!
He's having a laugh isn't he?
Like setting up camp in a Safari Park!!!
Still, good chance for a bit of Cossie killing....although I reckon it'll feel like driving round with a target on my rear bumper!
