OK guys, here it is!
Although the actual event doesn't take place at Silverstone until September, I thought I'd put the feelers out now to gauge general interest.
Myself and a FEW other Scoobies attended last years event, and were guests on a special invite stand as there was no official SIDC presence. Things are different this year. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

For those of you that don't know about Trax, have a look at

TonyNesta 16 March 2000 05:39 PM

I'm interested, but it depends on the dates!
Do we know what they are yet ? Is it a one or two day event ?

Stef 16 March 2000 05:48 PM

Ermmmm, sorry. In all the excitement I left the info at home!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/rolleyes.gif
I'll let you know tomorrow, unless someone else knows?

Stef.

DavidLewis 16 March 2000 09:51 PM

I'm up for both entrance and a Subaru only track slot. Just hope its not the w/e 9/10th September http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif

JamesH 16 March 2000 10:13 PM

I'm there already http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

johnfelstead 16 March 2000 11:13 PM

Its not the full GP track though is it stef?

The RS owners national day held a couple of weeks before trax last year used the full GP track. The only club in the UK allowed to do that last year.

Plus the track was open as a normal track day, i did about 50 laps of the GP track, if you get the chance to do the GP track, even if it is on an RS day, do it, hanger is bloody fast.

cant remember the price, think it was about £180 for the whole day.

Tim Taylor 16 March 2000 11:30 PM

I'm up for that. I've been lucky in the past and have driven Silverstone twice. It was great. Let me know the dates and I'll be there for everything. Sounds like a good excuse for a day out!!

Tim

Stef 17 March 2000 12:23 AM

Mike Rainbird 17 March 2000 12:43 AM

Can I infiltrate with the Cossie (I am an SIDC member afterall http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif) and would rather go out on the track with the Scoobies, than with the "scary" people who don't really know any track etiquette....?
Thanks
Mike

Milky 17 March 2000 12:50 AM

Nice one Stef, just remember a jumper for the track this year !!!!

I'll have some of that track time, me thinks.
Might need a bit of tuition if anyone is doing more than one session ? That is if I haven't done another one by then.

Darren.

Shaun 17 March 2000 12:51 AM

Best put me name down.

Shaun.

DavidLewis 17 March 2000 12:55 AM

OH BUGGER IT http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif (but might make it as a late visitor)

What time does it finish?

Andy Tang 17 March 2000 09:41 AM

Well done Stef!!

I'm up for it again, and this time I will hit the track!!!!

Andy

Stef 17 March 2000 10:39 AM

The date is Sunday September 10th (sorry David! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif ).
As I've said, register your genuine interest here and once we have enough people the club will book the sessions.
There will be an announcement in the next 'True Grip' and some spaces will be reserved for non-internet users.
If these don't then go we can re-allocate them.
As John said, it is NOT the full GP circuit (I think it's the touring car one), but it is still a fantastic drive.
There will also be the 0-60 sprint again, which costs £5 and gives you a printout of your time.
The crowd here is very large, so bad starts are a no-no! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/redface.gif
UK cars dominated this last year, as all the WRX's (that I saw) had to change into 3rd gear and couldn't manage under 6 secs!!!
Let's see if the imports can get their own back.
Believe me, if we can fill both arenas we will have one of the largest presences there, and that's what we deserve.
Let's get it on! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Stef.

sunilp 17 March 2000 11:08 AM

Stef, i'll come down for that M8

What do you need ?

Stef 17 March 2000 11:44 AM

Nothing yet mate.
Just a show of hands really.
Once there's enough interest we'll ask you to send payment to the club directly.
Easy peasy! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Stef.

Jonathan 17 March 2000 11:57 AM

Might bring the P1

Jonathan

Stef 17 March 2000 01:01 PM

Mike.
Nice try!
Unfortunately, this time it WILL be just Scoobies.
We will be trying to promote the SIDC after all, and having a rampant Cossie on the loose simply won't help matters! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif
I'm sure you'll feel much more at home with the likes of 'Car Crusher'!!
I will be going on track in a non-Scooby session too though, you know, just for fun! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

To all.
Just to let you know that passengers are not allowed with you on track at Silverstone unless you have a motorsport licence. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif
We will have a number a 'fast rides' available to us with the Silverstone Vectras which I'm sure are quite fast....well, sort of! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Stef.

Stef 17 March 2000 01:28 PM

David.

I believe it finishes about 4/5pm.

Stef.

EvoZero 17 March 2000 01:48 PM

Sorry! just been to the pub! Paddy`s day and all that.

Cheers

Ian

Stef 18 March 2000 10:27 AM

A club stand in the middle of RS territory! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif
He's having a laugh isn't he? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif
Like setting up camp in a Safari Park!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
Still, good chance for a bit of Cossie killing....although I reckon it'll feel like driving round with a target on my rear bumper!

Stef.

dave rose 18 March 2000 12:29 PM
