HANTS-MOB AND FRIENDS -->Helping disabled children
As the Hants-mob and all our friends have proven many times in the past to be a fun loving, charitable bunch, we are calling (begging?) for your help once again...
As you may or may not know, Mrs Peanuts (Martine) is climbing mt. Kilimanjaro in October 04 for Whizz-Kidz - the movement for non-mobile children. www.whizz-kidz.org.uk
Whizz-Kidz are a national charity (reg:802872) that aims to change the lives of disabled children by providing them with customised mobility equipment like wheelchairs and specially adapted tricycles which are not available on the NHS.
These children can then live their own lives to the fullest, often being able to join in with friends and family for the first time, at school, at home and at play, giving them the confidence and freedom taken for granted by the able bodied.
The average cost of this equipment is £3000 which is the amount we are trying to raise.
As part of the fund raising Mrs. Peanuts has already undertaken includes:
running in the great south run, car boot sales, sporting (euro04) sweepstakes and much more.
So far the amount raised is a mind blowing £2000!!!
To raise the final £1000 we are holding a charity Grand Summer Dance Extravaganza at Lee-on-Solent community centre (Gosport) on the 21st August 2004.
There will be a licensed bar (most important for you lot, we know), a disco, raffle with prizes galore (dvd player, colour telly, cd player etc etc).
Tickets for the event are a very reasonable £10 per adult, £5 for each child (U16). Every single penny raised will go directly to Whizz-Kidz.
Please, please see if you have this date free and if you can directly help us by attending the event. Bring friends, bring family, bring everyone.
also, I will host a sponsor form somehow (or post one to you), can you please see if you can print one off and p[ester as many people as you can to sponsor Martine for this very worthwhile cause.
We are more than willing to put people up who want a place to crash for free at our place. It may not be glamourous or luxurious but we have sofas, a bed, floorspace (with lilos) or even a place to pitch a tent (maybe two) in the garden.
You can freely raid our booze cabinet all you like and Im bound to offer a fry up in the morning!
if you are able to help at all in any way then please do, every single penny raised will make a positive difference to a disabled child and their family, it really is that simple.
We have posters (shop window, car window, notice boards etc?), sponsor forms a-plenty, raffle tickets and bags of enthusiasm.
What we dont have (yet) is your help in raisng the final grand.
if at all possible please help us by attending a jolly good evening or simply by offering to tout a sponsor form about mates, family and colleagues.
MANY, MANY THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP IN THIS
Martine and Andy
p.s. if they had a scoobynet smilie of a man on his knees then I'd use it!
you can also help out by BTTT-ing this if it starts to slip down the pages.

'Lo Peeps,
OMG long time no post Bored with my emails so I was just cruizin when I saw this one and thought I'd better reply - the Jen post scared me !!
Andy,
At the moment I think me and him *could* make this - need to talk to Mark and persuade him to stay in Hampshire on the Sat night (that won't be hard) so pencil us in for 2 tickets please.
Jen,
This is the weekend of the Romsey 'play' day. If we came up on the Saturday do the Mrs Peanuts event in the evening, kip over sat night (david might be helpful here ) then go to Romsey on the sunday?? A plan or what?? Also, on the Saturday we were thinking of doing a surprise party for you know who but we could get him and some of the landy boys to come to Martine's event and kill two birds with one stone ?? How many bodies can we get in a Landy to get to Lee on Solent !!
Will talk to you later.
Rach

Mate - sounds like a plan Sure some of the Landy boy's will be up for this - Deano/Crin, Dan etc. Will annoy Mr Landlord Blokie tonight and ask him...I'll buy him a sparkley shower curtain at lunchtime in an attempt to persuade him
...hope he hasn't got his SN log in yet!
