No more Bolney
Taken from japmobiles
All,
I got a call from the Landlord of the Bolney stage while I was away in Sheffield ... and I was left a message saying that they have indeed been taken over and that it is unlikely that Bolney can happen anymore.
Therefore, as of today ... Bolney is officially no more.
Thankyou to everyone who helped make it the meet that it became ... and thankyou to everyone who came along. It's the end of an era.
I may try and find somewhere else to hold the meet ... or try a new kind of meet entirely.
Cheers,
Daz

What about a meet at Brooklands?
I know that other car clubs have done similar things and I'm sure people would'nt mind a small fee for entrance?

WIP but not looking great for Bolney...

Good call re Brooklands Jim but I’m not sure how much room there is there now they have started work on the Daimler-Chrysler development. I’ll pop down this arvo/tomorrow for a look We could always sort a meet for when they have finished the track – IF they let locals on We will sort a Surrey meet there for ‘05 anyway
TT guys had a meet there in the summer, would love to see the track covered in scoobs

Nice one Ed,
Like I say, sure most people would'nt mind paying a fee.
That track would look so much better with scoobs lined up rather than those hairdresser mobiles

Went to Bolney 2003 & 2004, I loved the fact that the atmosphere was so laid back - weather was good and you could just park up and wander up a road lined with cars (couldn't miss any of them).
The drive from essex was fun as well (NOT speeding) just cruising down and seeing the amount of different Jap cars building up the closer you got (3 lanes of motorway better than single carrage B roads). A real sense of anticipation the closer you got.
Keep us posted with this venue or an alternative!

AP its Daimler-Chrysler mate
There will be some room left at the museum but it won’t be nearly big enough to accommodate anything Bolney size Room for us locals to have a meet though (I will get a pic of my car on that track if it kills me!)
Mart, nowt wrong with Alton but let’s keep it as Alton AND find a Bolney replacement I think it makes sense to add dates to the calendar rather than remove/combine them. Alton coped with the scoobs but I doubt it could take the rest of the Jap world too which was one of the nice things about Bolney
