WED 19th EastSussexScoobies evening meet
As all the organisers appear to have Saturday commitments this month, we thought we would offer an evening meet instead.
Usual venue, Coopers, from 7pm, if you want to have your tea early in the pub. If it is a nice evening we might crawl off at a reasonable pace somewhere pleasant to watch the sunset (if you are romantic) or perhaps to feed your face (if you are hungry and didn't eat at the start). Beachy Head caters for both.
Let's see if there is any interest.

Damn...knew this would happen....am having to drag ourselves off to Gran Canaria, so won't be able to make this one....will no doubt log on and post about how cold it is, how crap the weather is, how expensive the beer is, and how miserable it is sitting round a swimming pool having to watch topless laydees all day

Long way to come for a sunset, but I hear it's better down there
Will speak to Ang and see if permission will be granted
Can I just bring this too everyones attention:
Mike Rivett and I have been working on a little meet/show idea for a while and have finally come up with a date!!
So get your tents ready for 14/15th Aug.
The idea started after the MENCAP rally last year.
Mike has a small field just round the corner from his old workshop and we are planning on having a little get together for the Scoobs and Land Rover owners (should please Jen ).
During the day we hope to can organise a show and shine comp, etc.
For the afternoon/evening we are hoping to have a band for some live entertainment and provide a communial BBQ facility. (read huge oil drum!!) Bring your own food and drink. Pitch your tent and chat 'till the small hours with a few beers (No drinking and driving!)
There will need to be a small donation towards running costs and prizes.
Toilets provided
Anyone with ideas for making the day a bigger success please mail me.
So anyone interested?
I will post it up as a proper meet a bit closer to the date.

Dyney.... show and shine sounds very good idea. Might I add a 'blinging back box' competition? Some poeple out there just love to shine their pipes!
ESS.... I'll not make this meet, sorry. I don't get home from the 'Smoke' till 19:30, so it's a bit late to pop over.... plus I think the baby will have other ideas! Make sure lots of piccys are taken

It's a Brewers Fayre so the food should be to an acceptable standard -long time since I have eaten there. Perhaps others can confirm quality?
Iain - TENTS??????? When one has a Wagon (with tints)?

Keith - you ever tried sleeping in a Wagon? Cosy? yes, I'll grant you that, but it's a might bit stuffy, and cramped, but then I am over vertically challenged, so that might have something to do with it.
Suppose it's a good way to test the suspension out though I know the bridgestone setup was rock solid

Bugger,
We have just nailed a Critical Design Review with Eurofighter, so the boss is taking us all out for a beer and curry on the 19th......
It's a tuff choice.... free beer or Scooby gathering ........ I think beer wins
I'll catch up with those going to Japfest soon...see ya' l8r
P.S Glen, don't forget your Camera....we wouldn't want to deprive the ESS website of some nice PL shots now would we......

Are tents not my thing??
I love the pointy ones with a stiff pole that you can keep erect - so does Julia!
Wonder where you can buy a tent with tints?
MORE MEDICATION, NURSE!!!!!!!

Hope yesterday went well for you Iain - it's today now.
Weather looking good so far!
Nathan - can you (or anyone) post up the map for Coopers, just in case we get a visit from afar.

LMAO @ Dyney
Yes it went very well for a small gathering.
Thanks to those who came along.
It was a very pleasant evening for a small cruise out. During the summer a few more evening meets might have to be arranged.
The engine certainly enjoyed the cooler air on the way home. What did the exhaust sound like then Keith? I still think it sounds like a big engined motorbike!
Nathan..
Edited to add Keith YHM!

Could not hear it over the flat four rumble most of the time. Of course, when you shot off you were so far ahead we could only hear the birds singing!
Thanks to "Mr Sigma" the alarm specialist for working his wonders with my plipper!
